    Strange noise from steering column

Thanks guys, and yes I have the same habit freddo always wait for the pump to "prime" as it were. In fact I can hear the usual whir of the pump as normal when I jumped in this evening for a quick spin. Ignition switch ey? Sounds like an easy fix if that's the case. I'm going to try and capture...

    Strange noise from steering column

It's quite audible freddo, never noticed it before. It's a very odd sound. Just tried the car this morning and no noise this time. I'm wondering if it's worth trying to record it, although I doubt a phone will pick it up. It almost sounds like it's coming from behind the dash, around the area of...

    Strange noise from steering column

Thanks freddo - yes engine is off Strange though, most cars I've had you can hear the pump on pre-ignition - clean electrical whirring sound. This sound more like a laboured groaning at low volume - imagine two balloons being rubbed together - drop a couple of octaves and slow it down (yes I...

    Strange noise from steering column

Folks - bit of an odd one Jumped in the accord for the first time this week yesterday and discovered a strange sound emanating from the steering column area (I think) when moving the key to position 2. Hard to describe, like a subtle groaning sound that lasts around 3 seconds? started the...

    Traction Control Light

Agree with all of the above, a cheap car maybe but far more reliable than many cars on the road. Yes you can replace it but i would struggle to think of many cars as trustworthy when looked after. Other than another petrol Honda of course!

replacemnent of speakers for accord 2004 executive PSS

Quite a few people on here have fitted a second stereo head unit underneath the original and bypassed it. This eliminates the bass cut out and gives access to more modern features and improvements in sound quality. Most speakers - even cheap ones - will be an improvement over the factory ones...

replacemnent of speakers for accord 2004 executive PSS

There's a very comprehensive post on the forum about soundproofing. As for speakers it's all about personal choice but a general rule is you get what you pay for. The door speakers will require adapters to fit the aftermarkets. Also as you may have noticed, your factory stereo likes to cut...

    Honda Accord Advice

2.0 is an eco engine roughly 155bhp I think. The 7th gen is quite heavy so no there not fast. Even the 2.4 in standard form is more "brisk" than fast to be honest. So yes it's a good car, just not fast. Very reliable though

7th Gen - What have you done today?

hoovered the inside and baby wiped the door shuts. Got the orbital out and had a go at the headlight lenses, might actually be able to see something at night now! Also weighing up costs - of re-lowering car onto some new coilies and possibly spraying the front lip maybe even some second Hand...

    Traction Control Light

That's the one, the first part is essential as any underlying faults need to be cleared first (if any are present). As long as you bridge the right pins you won't cause any harm. Unless your very heavy handed and end up skewering the diags. Port! You can make access a little easier by popping...

    Traction Control Light

Just remembered - had all three come on in a friends accord not that long ago, the ABS light disappeared after having an ABS sensor diagnosed and swapped but he was left with the triangle and VSA. The reset procedure took care of it and lights haven't been back since.

    Traction Control Light

I can see you've got a 2.4, also you've posted about the fault before back in 2015. Did you manage to sort it back then but the fault has now returned? The VSA can light up for several reasons on the petrol models, the usual culprit is an ABS sensor but I have read that badly worn bushes/...
