    Rear Brake Pads

Heard a rubbing noise coming from the passenger rear wheel. I know this wheel has been binding a bit, not too bad but the wheel was getting a bit warm. Anyway, thought the brakes were sticking so jacked the car up and seen what I thought was a stone stuck between the disc and stone guard...

    oil change pump?

I've got one of the manual ones (a Pela). It does work quite well actually. I bought it for my last car but i use it on the accord a well. As Dave suggests, it has been very useful when dealers have overfilled the oil level. I use it to get the majority of the oil out when doing a change. I...

    Hard to start when cold

In your case probably glow plugs first thing to look at. Try turning the ignition on and off couple of times before starting (cycle the glow plugs). excess smoke is likely unburnt diesel but keep an eye on oil as well. Blue smoke tends to be burning oil.

    What a complete plank!

Yes, the one from my wifes civic fits exactly   I've ordered a "moto build" one of ebay that'll hopefully fit as we don't really need her car for the next few days. Its an alloy one so hopefully it won't happen again! What I did notice is neither car seems to have a rubber...

    What a complete plank!

Sorry to revive an old thread but I was topping up my oil today and went to tighten the cap back on and it just sheared off in my hand! And I know I wasn't overtightening it. It starten to tighten up and then just went loose! Was able to get the rest of the thread out ok, just spun out easily...

    Driveshaft noises?

Am not sure but try swapping the suspect shaft with a known good one and see if its any different. Your dealer will do this (for a handsome fee of course), or if you have a friend prepared to help out, or buy the cheapest second hand one you can. Even if it causes the vibration, if the noise...

    Driveshaft noises?

Totally go OEM, it'll pay of in the long run. I believe that the joints can be changed, i think HH change joints. Worth giving them a ring. The other option is to get a second hand shaft. Don't do like me and get a refurbished or motorfactor shaft. Prices look about right for new honda parts.

Clutch Pedal Tech Service Bulletin Diesel

Fair enough! The clutch pedal does normally sit higher than the brake. Think its so you aren't as likely to accidentally hit the brake pedal instead of the clutch.

Clutch Pedal Tech Service Bulletin Diesel

I guess what you are wanting is the clutch pedal to be stopped by the pedal mechanism and not the switch.

    convert to solid flywheel?

I think the Honda price of £850 for just the clutch is a rip-off, considering they are still doing it for the civic at £635. In fact, you can get a genuine honda kit for £200 from...

    Honda happiness clutch price increase?

Thats often the way the clutches go, slips and then grips for a while and then eventually goes again. Mine was slipping a few months ago but has been fine since, I most have done 5-6k in that time! Do CG Motorsport sell just the kits and do we still need the honda alignment tool?

    Oil pressure light

You could always argue remap = less chance of her stalling at slow speeds = avoids oil light coming on :D

    Gauge Control Module?

Lee, not much help but the first thing I would check is the battery connections, make sure they are tight especially the earth.

    Miles per Gallon?

A lot of good advise there matt. Along with the usual checking tyre pressures and keeping the car well serviced, keeping the car just below 2k rpm (~67mph) should also help. This is my normal commuting speed and reguarly get 50mpg+. Thats far better than my old 106 1.5D :D Its also better...

    Washer Woes #1

+1 for drivers side. My problem seems to be that most of the jet seems to hit the wiper arm. Doesn't get all the way up the screen! My wife's civic's windscreen washers are excellent in contrast.

    Snow foam formula

I don't think it'll be as good as a lance, but the super sprayer http://www.cleanyourcar.co.uk/washing-and-drying/super-spray-hose-end-sprayer/prod_335.html works pretty much the same way as you are describing. I have one of these, I get some foam, but not enough to do anything really! It...

    Intermittent Air-Con Issue

Is the outside temperature reading ok? I had this sensor go faulty and when it was thinking the temperature was -20 in the middle of the summer :o That affected the climate control somewhat!

Glow plug & oil light. Help!

Maybe, maybe not. Did the car get serviced when you bought it? It could be the garage used non-genuine filters. Non-genuine oil filters have also been known to fail on occassion. But hopefully that hasn't happened and it's something more simple. Remember Honda recommend that the oil level...

    Not your typical clutch question

Did you get it done by honda dealer? Don't know if this makes any difference if its the high torque thats killing it.

16" vs 17" rims / Winter tyres - advice sought

I managed to get a very cheap set of second hand genuine 16" alloys of gumtree last year. It can work out cheaper to buy a second hand set of 16" alloys and 16" winter tyres than to buy a set of 17" winter tyres. Steels are of course the other way to go but be careful, as they are not genuine...
