    50k Diesel Engine failure

Andrew, this is the link: http://www.honestjohn.co.uk/carbycar/honda/cr-v-2002/?section=bad Yes the TSB is for the 04/05 models but I've read of newer ones rattling as well. As you'll read over and over on here the only oil is 0W-30. Fully synthetic could be anything. If the engine is still...

    50k Diesel Engine failure

Sorry to hear about your problem Andrew and welcome to the forum btw :( As a matter of course I now always check my oil level before I leave the garage car park after a service. Just to make sure it has been changed and not overfilled. Am a little confused. Are you saying the engine is...

Parking Sensors or Rear View Camera?

Don't forget a good towbar is essential for this

My experience with jerkiness at low revs (diesel)

Good stuff Nuno. Someone had also posted a while ago about taking the slack out of the accerator cable. Can't remember who it was, was on the old forum.

What sort of mpg do you all get on your diesels?

I don't even have the choice - no Shell garages at all over here now

    3rd Gear Problem

Thanks Dan and Fahad. I'm not to bothered about it. It was just after using Alungs excellent guide to get the creaky clutch sorted, wanted to get this niggle done as well. Having said that, my last car had a tendency to do the same thing so maybe its the driver :o

    3rd Gear Problem

Thanks Fahad and Marcus. Honda dealer did the fluid change, think they had MTF3 on the invoice ok, but I've also heard they use Castrol SMX-S. I was kicking myself earlier cause I was thinking I should have got the clutch fluid done as well! Cars got 74k on it but was doing it when i got it...

    3rd Gear Problem

I sometimes have a bit of problem selecting 3rd gear. All other gears are ok and smooth enough, its just 3rd can sometimes need an extra hard push or doesn't fully go in. Have just got the gearbox oil changed and its no different. Is there any other easy things to look at without having to...

P2004 - IMRC Intake Manifold Runner Control problems

This is a very positive result. Is it a common part for both pre and post facelift models?

7th gen Accord rear bumper removal

I still have the pdf from the old site with photos etc of the removal. Can't upload it from work (also can't watch movies) but the steps in the guide are as follows: 1. Open boot and remove caps and then bolts from near the light cluster 2. If you've mud flaps, remove these to expose other...

    EGR Valve maybe?

Waj, typically they change the injectors as part of the timing chain job. Think they can break or something when they strip the engine. That would possibly rule out the injectors if the timing chain has been done.

    EGR Valve maybe?

Could be an injector. Is the car still under warranty for the timing chain? Could get 4 free injectors!

    Diesel Glow plug light flashing

Its possibly a short between the reverse light and brake light. Putting the car into reverse may be sending power into the brake switch which the car is sensing as a fault. Couple of easy things you could try. Pull out the fuse for the reverse light and see what happens. Get someone to press...

Where do you get your detailing kit from?

I've used cleanyourcar as well but I'm finding their postage costs ridiculous. I'll be using ebay and possibly performancemotorcare (which also has free delivery even over to here). Did your valet not get rid of the swirl marks? If they're bad then its prob best to get them removed with a...

    Tyre Rotation

I'm guessing the issue with rear wheel grip only really becomes a problem at high speeds. With snow, you shouldn't be going at these same high speeds! As a minimum you would need the snow tyres on the front, otherwise you'll be just like the rest of us and sit there spinning! You can also get...

    Diesel Glow plug light flashing

How did you connect your reverse camera? Is it feeding of the reverse light wire as well as the sensors? Did this only start since you got the camera fitted?

    Diesel Glow plug light flashing

Definately linked to your reversing sensors then. I'm guessing the reversing light wire is shorting into the brake lights.

    EGR Valve maybe?

My thinking was if the car was high milage on the motorway then the throttle sensor might be "worn" around that throttle setting. Most sensors don't show up on OBD scans unless they are properly faulty, not working at all or disconnected. If this is happening when the car warms up then it is...

    EGR Valve maybe?

How many miles has the car done and does it do this in every gear and under light and hard acceleration? Could be a few other things to look at, throttle position sensor if high milage or a blocked cat?
