Still have hesitation after FSV change

I had a slight hesitation when I bought my CTDi, but the Elite Remap really highlighted that there was a problem. I cleaned the swirl valve, MAF and MAP sensors, EGR (although, I think, not properly) and what parts of the intake manifold I could get to, but this didn't change anything. I then...

    Going to Honda Accord

I paid £9K for an 06 2.2 i-CTDi with 35K on the clock. TBH I think what the dealer's asking for is too much. As people have said, you're in the same price bracket as the 8th Gen with that price, so you'd probably be better off looking for one of them IMO.

    How much smoke on accelerating?

Frequency solenoid valve (worth wading through this thread - especially the last 4 pages: http://typeaccord.co.uk/forum/topic/1127-slight-missing-or-hesitation-excessive-smoking-etc/ http://typeaccord.co.uk/forum/topic/1240-imrc-frequency-solenoid-failure-dtc-p2004/page__pid__14089#entry14089...

    How much smoke on accelerating?

It also seems to happen when the FSV is knackered, or its filter is clogged, as mine was smoking big time - especially post remap. Now that the new FSV's fitted (yesterday) it seems to have really cut down the smoke too, which is a relief!

What sort of mpg do you all get on your diesels?

True and reading my last post it wasn't too clear - the only thing i'm not bothered about was the OBC being rubbish, as it always was anyway! 53 Mpg is about what I was getting before anyway, so happy with that!

What sort of mpg do you all get on your diesels?

My first proper tank post remap OBC said 63Mpg, but it was actually 53Mpg . It never was too good anyway though and i'm not too bothered TBH. I suspect my next tank will do better though once I keep my right foot away from the loud pedal!

    Buying a 2006 Ctdi ex tomorrow :D

Some Cat D cars are fine; as Chris said a lot of it's down to the value of the car when damaged and the smallest knock can sometimes result in a Cat D rating. But even if this one's only a Cat D and not C, the fact the seller didn't use the correct parts for the repair, tried to hide it through...

What sort of mpg do you all get on your diesels?

I've been keeping my Mph down to and from work and tend to get about 49-54 to the gallon, but yesterday I drove to Scotland and decided to hypermile it... 463.9 miles using 31.59 litres of fuel = 66.8 mpg! Trip computer was reading 70.4 mpg when I filled up, which seems to be about the usual...

    Wheel Alignment, balancing, runout....

Pulling to one side is far more likely to be your tracking/alignment/geo (whatever you want to call it). Generally incorrect Camber or Toe on the front or rear suspension. Go to somewhere that does alignment and get them to check it out first.

    Cleaning EGR Valve

Top work CJ - I was just looking for an EGR DIY yesterday and wondered what the facelift differences may be and then today as if by magic... That's now give me a full list of CDTi sensors and valves to clean this week, and I plan to do it after every service too. Can't hurt - especially seeing...

iCDTI Pipercross air filter panels & mpg

Looks like I'll need to bump my post count up a bit before I can access that thread! :D Very interested in how these affect performance and economy. More interested in economy TBH, but even if they've got a neutral impact it's still worth it for the re-usability. @ F6HAD - I saw the question...
