    My problems in one thread

1 and 2 could very well be related. Under normal circumstances your coolant level shouldn't change. If it has dropped you need to top it back up and also find out where it has gone. If the engine is low on coolant the temperature gauge will rise quicker and the heater also won't work very well...

    A few questions about servicing

You don't have a service light so you will be waiting a long time for it to come on. Gearbox oil change is due every 75k miles, you need to use Honda MTF 3 and it makes the change nice and smooth again though it is relatively easy to do. If you intend on keeping the car I would give it a...

    Strange problem with my Accord

Modern diesels run at much higher pressures than a few years ago which means they don't need the glow plugs until the temperature is a lot lower, though they now sometimes continue to use them after the car has started to reduce warm up times and to keep the engine quieter.

    Have you lowered your accord?

Yes I mean hard driving, traffic light grand prix etc. Generally when the clutch starts slipping on the accord it can keep going for thousands of miles and could stop slipping again as it adjusts up. For camber arms search accord rear camber on ebay and you will find plenty for around £100. If...

    Have you lowered your accord?

Plenty of people have lowered them and the main problem you might suffer is negative camber on the rear which can wear your tyres but you can get camber adjusters to solve this. The flywheel would only be affected by more power such as a remap, or towing or your driving style.

Newbie questions (2.4 Tourer, 7th Gen)

I haven't changed them myself but someone on here replaced the rear struts and didn't pay Lings prices. You could also try HH for a price on the struts. I'm thinking they were around £40 each off the top of my head. You could also try working the tailgate up and down by hand a few times by hand...

    Satnav Issue

Yes 7th gen the did drive is at the bottom of the centre console. You can eject the disk if you want. You get the original warning message which you need to acknowledge and then press the 3 buttons

    Newly Bought 2005 Accord I-CTDI

The battery sounds a little sluggish but also did you give the glow plugs a chance to work? You should turn on the ignition and wait a few seconds for the glow plug light to come on and go back off again before attempting to start.

    Satnav Issue

Nice and easy. Hold down the 3 left buttons to get into the setup menu. Go down to Version. On the next page you can now select Download.

    Satnav Issue

You can downgrade back to your original disk because I did it on mine when the copied disk stopped working. I did try telling people not to bother with copied disks at the time but I got ignored. I'll go out to my car shortly and have a look how I did it. It's fairly straightforward

Just thinking about buying a 2006 Honda Accord 2.2 EX

Sounds like a nice car. They are reliable if looked after. If you are planning on keeping it for a while the best thing you can do is give it regular oil changes with the correct 0-30 oil. You can buy it in 25L drums from lubetech who have a section on here for around £100

    Gen 7 alloy wheel colour

Don't know the codes but it will depend on which wheels you have fitted, they are not all the same

Can you disable the ABS light by removing a fuse or something?

If you are waiting for a scanner coming you could try cleaning the wheel sensors or attach a multimeter on resistance to each one and spin the wheel to see if the reading changes

Can you disable the ABS light by removing a fuse or something?

Part of the mot test is to check that the abs light comes on with the ignition and goes off again when it should. Easier and safer just to fix the fault

8th gen wheels on 7th Gen

I think I would just use them until the tyres wear out unless you have a buyer for the tyres

    ECU repair

It might be worth while doing a quick voltage check with the engine running just in case the alternator has failed and is over charging the electrics. Would only take 5 minutes
  19. D

    Possible battery/alternator/electrical issue?

Sounds like the alternator is struggling or failing. Check the voltage across the battery with the engine running.

LPG or Diesel? which is more efficient? opinions please.

If it was me I would probably go for the diesel. Put the money you would spend on a decent conversion towards a diesel Accord. Lpg is fine when running right but I think the small range from the tanks and reduced boot space will do your head in. Buy an Accord that has been well serviced...
