    Quick Question

I have the premium, so don't know what the standard system is like. Can you see grills up on the dash, as if there are tweeters there? That's what mine has. Park up, put some music on and get up close to them. If you can hear the high frequencies louder, then you know. If not, or if you're...

Drivers window getting stuck when fully down

Yeah, try to only nudge it up on the first click. If you go to the second click (the auto-up) feature, it tends to stop. I believe the cause to be moisture and gunk in the window runners causing resistance as you'll probably notice a correlation between cold, damp weather it being worse. Take a...

    Knocking

I feel you man. I'm in a similar position. Car's old but aside from manageable faults it keeps soldiering on.

    Knocking

It might only fetch £800-1000 if you sold it, but how much would it cost to repair and keep driving and how much would it cost to replace with a newer car that's the same level of luxury and performance? If you can easily afford to upgrade, then do it. But it's probably still good for a time...

few questions regarding 05 estate from a newbie

He was talking about me (I think?). He's only saying that because I've fixed my own about five or six times now. I tend to do it about once every 9 months or so. It's very easy to do. The DVD lens basically gets dirty. A few bits of interior trim, 10mm bolts, watchmakers screwdriver set, cotton...

    Cigarette socket stopped

Must have been something in the connection mechanism that when you inserted something it broke the connection... Glad it's sorted.

    Cigarette socket stopped

Strange. Maybe it's a mechanical fault. In that when something's in there it's breaking the circuit unintentionally. Maybe take the socket out and give it a once over. Is the socket in the boot the same? If you don't use the boot socket, maybe you could swap them over... see if the boot's one...

    Cigarette socket stopped

How about if you try a different device in there, like a USB charger or something. Perhaps it's the lighter filament itself, not the socket?

    Cigarette socket stopped

Can of compressed air and and magnet! Give the thing a clean out, make sure no dirt's down there shorting it out or anything. Then, if it's still dead, but the fuse is good, check the connections at the back with a multimeter, then round the front. Essentially trace back until you get 12 volts...

    Exhaust repair result

Mate, they did my Exhaust :D . Nice guys in there. No nonsense. Exactly this, patch repaired my original to get it through MOT and then a few months later went back and had a full cat back stainless system made up for £450. Highly recommend them.

    2.4 auto mpg

From what I've heard the 2.4 auto is pretty thirsty. Expect high teens, low twenties round town, high twenties on motorway.

    7th Gen Accord 2.4 - The AUX issue / SATNAV+CD Changer

There are some options. There's a funny multi pin connection on the back of the unit, that's originally intended for additional/external CD/Tape units. There are a couple of manufactures who make interfaces that you can plug an aux or iPod into and they plug into this input on the back of the...

    Vertical movement in driveshafts

Of course if you lower the car and/or increase engine output it will contribute to premature fatigue, but if you search the forum you'll find plenty of members with non-modified cars who've suffered drive shaft problems. Search for Acura TSX drive shafts on google and you'll find lots of people...

    Vertical movement in driveshafts

Firstly the knocking... these cars are big, heavy and they eat anti roll bar bushes and drop links for breakfast. ARB bushes and drop links are the first point of call for knocking over bumps. Secondly, the drive shafts... these cars shouldn't have movement in the shafts, not more than the tiny...

Thousands' driving without crucial diesel filters - BBC News

Forgive me, I'm not up to speed on exactly how the DPF works, but could the lack of a DPF be detected by ****ysing exhaust fumes? Or that an over-simplistic understanding of it?
