Good places to get 6th gen body mods? Modded 6th gen examples?

Does anyone know if the rear bumper from the saloon is longer than the rear bumper on the hatch? At a glance it looks to be the case, but if you then look at the rear pillars it looks like the hatch not is shortened by the profile of the rear window, as opposed to actually being a shorter car...

    Painting interior trim

Thought I'd have a bash at painting the ghastly walnut trim on my 6th gen, no before pics (nobody deserves to have to look at fake walnut trim) but here's how it came out: I went for gloss black as that's the first can I found in the cupboard, but I may colour code it to my bodywork in the...

    K20 series engines

The design of the head/cam ***embly is probably the most practical set up imo. Hydraulic cam followers can't be adjusted for wear, so they would just need replacing at some point. I've had them on a couple of 8v cars and replacing them when they inevitably get gunked up oil passages/become...

Good places to get 6th gen body mods? Modded 6th gen examples?

Pre-facelift has bump strips and more rectangular fog lights, the facelift model has no bump strips and more angled fogs, it's a bit curvier too and there's a subtle difference in the grille shape iirc. Here's my face lift 6th gen (before it died!):

Good places to get 6th gen body mods? Modded 6th gen examples?

The JDL kit is my favourite B) I'd happily swap the bumpers off my face lift Accord so I could fit it. The rear spoiler is perfect, like a mini Prelude Mugen one, and the roof spoiler is the cherry on top :D

    Braided brake hoses

I put braided lines on to my 3rd gen Accord, there is a noticeable increase in brake feel. The pedal is much firmer and responsive. That's on stock brakes as well. I think it's a worthwhile mod on any car :)

    empty ****ler

I reckon that by gutting the silencers it will **** up the fluid dynamics of the exhaust and probably lose power... I you want them gone I'd get straight pipe fitted in their place, but be prepared for difficulty with MOT's/the police ;)

Engine temp gauge not in the middle

RE using climate control without the A/C being on; is there an economy button, normally marked 'econ' or similar? I'm fairly certain every car I've driven with A/C and climate control equipped has had this button - it's there to prevent the A/C engaging if it's not needed in order to increase...

    Oil level rising?

Yup I reckon thermal expansion too - some cars even have a hot and cold high level mark on the dip stick just for this reason. Could also be because it takes a little while for all the oil to travel down the galleries as you fill up - if you were to fill up to the max mark without a long break...

    boost gauge

I think it'd be a useful addition in any turbo'd vehicle. Fair enough it might not be as exciting as in a petrol, but the most important function of gauges is that they allow you to check that systems in your car are operating as they should. Maybe I'm just weird (a distinct possibility...

Problem with car not boosting post fuel filter change

Hi Richard, I've dropped you a PM. Cheers, Josh

    cold feet heater problem

A/C will take the moisture out the air being pumped into the cabin, which will help prevent misting. It's also good practice to use the A/C in winter as it helps keep the system in working order :) *Edit: That's not to say that there might not be a problem with your fan. If you get full power...

Best way to get white paint specs off bodywork?

I wouldn't t-cut it  If it's actually paint I'd say get a detailer to machine polish it, or if it's just some dirt/contamination then I'd clay it off.

    My problems in one thread

A little oil on the floor can look like a lot though, it could take a lot of small splats to make a noticeable difference on the dip stick. I'll also go out on a limb and say most H22 engines lose oil through burning it or otherwise, so I'd be genuinely surprised if this one isn't losing a drop...

    My problems in one thread

Sorry, I wasn't talking about transmission oil :p there is an engine oil cooler on the H22, above the oil filter. There is a seal inside this which is known to leak with age. I'll have to look it up as I've not had this problem myself, but I know of a fair few who have.

    My problems in one thread

did you fit new snap rings when you refitted the driveshafts? tbh as long as the drive shafts are in and secure I doubt you have a leak from there. If I had to take a punt I'd say it's the seal inside the oil cooler ***embly, they're known for failing on the H22.

Old skool (ATR) vs pre skool (euro r)

Your car is very keenly priced indeed Pete! Absolute bargain for whoever picks it up :) A really well looked after example as well it seems. To put it into perspective, you'd struggle to get as good a 6th gen Euro-R for that money, so to get a 7th gen for it is epic!

    Headlight Adjustment, Help Please

FWIW on my Legacy the headlights are aimed too high on setting 0, I've dipped them a bit by the adjuster switch and now I don't get flashed by every passing car. The peevish side of me just wanted to leave my full beams on constantly to really give them something to flash about

Old skool (ATR) vs pre skool (euro r)

To be fair that's the case with most older performance cars unfortunately. Take your time and you'll find the right car :)

Old skool (ATR) vs pre skool (euro r)

It's not mine mate, just one which I saw for sale in Japan. I'd like to import an Accord Euro-R but in all honesty I don't think I'd be able to turn it around very quickly and I'm not keen on taking in stock that would sit around. I would have no qualms importing it if I had a buyer lined up...
