    Pagid pads & discs

I've used Pagid discs and pads on the front of my last car (Punto 1.4 16v Sporting - hardly the right image for a 45 yr old or what ?) and they were absolutely fine. HTH Cheers Robin

HFT and Voice Activated Sat Nav.

...and the way that it often says something like "star - 8 - 4" when you've just told it to call someone. I've given up using it now because of this - have to say though that once you manage to get a call set up the quality both ways on the Honda system is excellent, I've had quite a few...

How long has your clutch lasted

My tourer is on 64k now, not mapped <if only...> and not used for towing by me (although it was ex lease from Lancs County Council so who knows what it's been used for ?) Still on original clutch. I have experienced boost slip just the once whilst on holiday in August with the car fully loaded...

    f-can system link

There's a lot of things that can be read with the right equipment but that won't show with an OBD2 reader as OBD2 only relates to the engine ECU really. If you can't see any problems I wouldn't worry about it. A couple of weeks ago I spent the day up in sunny Lancashire at a company called Texa...

    Odd internal noise

Hi and thanks for the suggestion, that's something else to look at although it does sound like it's coming from inside the heater vent channel with the seat removed. I'm convinced that whatever is in there is spherical as it's a 'rolling' sound rather than a 'skating' sound. Just ordered a...

    Odd internal noise

I almost wish it was that..... had the passenger seat out completely and went for a drive and the noise was still there  Also caused an airbag warning light but fortunately this cleared itself once the seat was back in. I'm certain now that the noise is coming from the plastic heater...

Scraping or grinding metal noise when i turn slow or fast

Are the rear brake pads OK and not worn down ? My colleague has just had an identical problem with his '04 Civic which turned out to be low pads on the nearside. Cheers Robin

    Odd internal noise

Thanks John, something else to check but I'm sure it's done it whilst SWMBO was in the passenger seat. It sounds just like a ball bearing sliding a distance of 5 inches on a thin metal surface. Cheers Robin

    Odd internal noise

Thanks for the update Sal, looks like I'll have to get the seat off for a closer look. As it has the electric seats I can imagine some sort of ballscrew arrangement possibly with a ball bearing at the end of the ballscrew rod so maybe it's fallen out of place and is rattling around in the frame...

    Odd internal noise

My Tourer has had a noise since I've had it which is driving me nuts slowly. The best way I can describe it is this: Imagine that someone has wedged an empty aerosol spray paint can under the front passenger seat. As it's empty, the ball bearing inside the can is still when at rest, but when...

    Parrot MKi9200

The Parrot kit is generally very good. We have about 3,000 CK3100 car kits installed where I work and they're trouble free. Slightly off topic - I'm having this unit fitted into my Tourer soon as part of a second sourcing trial (well if I'm going to be taking any 'how do I ?' calls from trial...

    aftermarkte satnav

Looks nice - I'd make sure that the mapping updates for the satnav are readily available before parting with that sort of money though. Cheers Robin

Fuel Filter Change Facelift 7th Gen

Nice one - thanks for taking the time to post this, I've no doubt it will come in handy sometime. Candidate for a sticky ? ;)

    Sat Nav Repair

There's also this:Clicky if you're handy with a screwdriver (and ***uming that it is the correct item - not sure what the model number of the satnav drive is but I know that it's made by Alpine) As has already been said though, it may work fine if you just plug it in but the laser diode power...

    clutch pedal creak / clicking

I've just used some Castrol Red Brake rebuild grease on mine (from Ebay) and it seems to have worked a treat. HTH. Cheers Robin

    Timing Chain?

I once got stung £80 by a Fiat dealer for something like this...... took all of 30 seconds. I was incandescent ! :) The service manager was having no arguments at all......
