I have just today traded my 7th gen, for an 8th gen. I have left over, a set of oe 16 inch (alloy) wheels with good cooper winter tyres on them. These will be going up for sale very soon, Check fitment with the above guide, my car was 2007 7th gen.

The load and speed rating remains. The repair is just to the rubber, they are rejected, and deemed as scrap, if there is cord damage. Good to know you got some mileage out of those part worns. Cheers

Hi Jon. I work in a tyre shop in Kington (we also used to be HiQ in Ludlow). We can get repairs professionally done to shoulder / sidewall areas, which cannot be safely done with "mushrooms". The cost is about £30, although we do not do it in house, so the turnaround is a week.

I have just shy of a ton, 375kg trailer, 530kg car. The 7th gen has no problems towing this, (especially as Fahad has breathed his magic on it!), just fancy the newer model.

No, I am still no wiser. It has done this 3 or 4 times since, always a few minutes after being started from warm. I have ceased worrying about it now, I just complete my journey (thinking of the fuel I am saving), or just turn off, to reboot.
