How to tell if my cold morning fast heater is working?

Cant remember 100% what the temp has to be below for it kick in, make sure your climate is set to Auto. Only time I really knew mine was working was for some reason it used to smell a bit funny but then I was never sure if it was the heaters sucking fumes in whilst I was busy scraping the ice...

Yeah but it uses the a/c to generate the heat somehow, there is not a seperate diesel powered heater.

    Water in rear pass. footwell

You could have a slightly blocked drain I did have this problem on my old Civic it did drain water but couldn't cope with heavy downpours and thus started leaking from the joints of the drain tube. Not quite sure which trim your on about as I have a tourer but the trims are usually just clipped...

    Water in rear pass. footwell

Sunroofs usually have 4 drains one in each corner so it could be one is blocked, park the car so all the water will run down the rear drain of the side where the footwell is wet and open the roof and pour water into the channels and see if it drains away and whether it appears in the footwell...

    Cold weather

Leave it on auto, with a diesel when its really cold (not sure if it's a same on petrol) and you set the temp to a high temperature it does summat clever and gets you warm air even before the engine has warmed up. Tells you about it in owners manual (diesel).

Tourer rear brakes - hmmm burning :(

That should cure it, piston on mine was corroded and wouldn't go back in fully, even when it was on a bench with the hammer it took some serious whacks to get it freed off enough to get a weeks use out of it till recon caliper arrived.

    VSA Modulator Light

If its a wheel speed sensor fault you'd get the ABS light on as well. If you just have the VSA light on then you'll need to go to Honda for diagnostics unless you know someone with HDS or Snapon code readers like Paul said above.

Alternator failed on my 07 CDTI

New pulley is around £70-£80 I think thats got the clutch in. I got a fully re-conditioned alternator for mine and fitted the shorter belt, you simply unbolt the idler pulley and throw it away (there is a diagram in with the belt).

    Yet another with Brake Woes....

I got it from my local motorfactors, it is a nissan/nissin or whatever it says on caliper, same as the one I took off. I was going to buy new piston and seals and do mine but didn't see the point of messing about when there that cheap. I think big red do a pair on ebay for just over £100.

    Yet another with Brake Woes....

Price up a re-con caliper for the otherside I got mine for under just under £50 and it really is an easy job to change or get an independant to change it for you if your not too sure on it.

Service for low mileage BUT 5 year s

I'd say that's probably ok, personally I'd change the spark plugs as well, not sure what the service interval is for them but your cars only done 20k miles but they will have been in for 5 years I suspect. Might as well stick a pollen filter in it too, you could do that yourself its a 5min job.

    Driveshaft compatibility CN1's

Lings mask the parts numbers but there is a way round it. On the page edit the url in your address bar and remove _.pfk so it says "parts_selection.php?block" instead of "parts_selection_pfk.php?block" then hit enter and you will get the proper Honda parts number.
