    Oil level rising?

Thanks for the replies. Yes I changed the oil filter, i'd never do an oil change without changing it. I did however check it on a hot engine so this could have made the difference. I would check it now but it is warm so prehaps in a couple of hours i'll check it again. My guess is its the warm...

    Oil level rising?

I did an oil change about 3 weeks ago and everything was all fine. I checked the oil level yesterday and it seems to be about half a centimeter above the max. Im unsure whether I overfilled it (if anything im pretty sure I underfilled it) or maybe the oil level is rising. I know some mazdas have...

Replacing injector seal, can I DIY it?

Thanks Jon. Just a few more questions before I get going with this... Is there any advantage to heating up the engine? and... From pictures I notice the injectors dont appear to have thread on the tips, is this correct? So I should just be able to pull them out by hand if they are loose? My...

Replacing injector seal, can I DIY it?

Im still a bit confused about the process of removing the injector. There are the two black tubes at 3 o clock and 9 o clock going into the injector. Then the aluminium connection, which im guessing is the high pressured connection? Then the electrical connector which goes to the injector. The...

Replacing injector seal, can I DIY it?

Sorry for the late reply Jon. What I meant was I swapped out the pollen filter before I discovered the injector was leaking. So with having a new pollen filter fumes are now coming into the cabin more freely than if I left the old filter in place. I have been using the recirculate button for now...

H22A oil pressure sensor torque setting?

Im wondering if anyone knows the torque setting for the oil pressure sensor on a h22a engine, usually found in 92-96 preludes but I think they are found in accords also. Im sure other variants of the h22 engine i.e. h22a7 etc are the same torque setting. Thanks for your help :)

Replacing injector seal, can I DIY it?

That all makes sense. Cheers for the reply Jon. If the recirulate button is on will it block the air coming in through the pollen filter? Im starting to wish id left the dirty pollen filter in now rather than replacing it.

Replacing injector seal, can I DIY it?

Oh I see. So quite possibly the battery could be on its way out or its just the usual problem of starting engines in the cold. Its the first diesel ive owned and I hear they take alot more power to start up. By the way I did switch on the recirculate button and always drive now with the window...

Replacing injector seal, can I DIY it?

Thanks Jon. It seems the torx bolt head is filled up with carbon so i'll need to do a bit of picking away at it before removing the injector. Im going to pick away at it with a nail and add some acetone and transmission fluid mixture which is like a heavy duty plusgas. Its not a job im going to...

Replacing injector seal, can I DIY it?

I just wondered do I need any special tools for removing the injector? Also do I need to be aware of any safety aspect of working around the injectors? I keep reading stuff about diesels being higher pressure than petrol.

    Air con not working?

Hi guys, My car has another glitch that needs ironing out. The air con doesnt seem to work. Im hoping its just a regassing that needs doing rather than the actual compressor thats gone. One of my family members has a honda jazz and a little blue LED comes on when the aircon button is pressed...

Please help me identify this part?

After trying to undo the nuts and the bolt just spinning round and round I discovered there was a hole in the bolt for an allen key. After rounding off the head on one allen key then twisting another (that will teach me to buy cheap tools) I used a grinder in the end to get them off. I grinded a...

Please help me identify this part?

The front right drop link seemed fairly new so has obviously been changed fairly recently. The left one definitely seems older. I might give them a call and see but the only other ball joint around there is the steering arm ball joint or the one on the lower control arm under the hub so...

Please help me identify this part?

My car recently past its mot but with 3 advisories. I have replaced the upper wishbones either side but still have to change another part on the nearside front. The mot inspector dude wrote on the advisory section "nearside front lower anti-roll bar has slight play in a ball joint".... does that...

How to replace upper ball joints?

Cheers Jon. Yep getting the tools out is a job in itself. A proper garage is one with toolage strewn about the floor. Everything visible in a nice organised manner :D
