    air con

After fitting a new condenser and compresser to my cdti my friend vacced oiled and recharged my system at his garage. The pipes around the valve under the bonnet are really cold but the air coming into the car is just about outside temp. Any ideas about my next step chaps? Thanks, Rod.

Honda Accord 2007 2.2I-CTDI starting problem

As you seem as though you may be having one or two problems, a trip to F6HAD would be a big help. He has the expertise and equipment to give you the best possible information and advice, I came away feeling much more confidant about my 220k old banger thanks to the once over he gave it.

    headlamp washers

Just had the front off for new a/c condenser and belatedly noticed my headlamp washers not operating, I don't think they ever have. Waterpipe conection was good to bumper when re-connected and windscreen washers are powerful, any ideas before I take off the bumper again, thanks, Rod.

    hft

I don't know if there is a remedy, but it would be nice to have my hft working in the old 2008 diesel. It did work when bought, but after a period left standing during which time mig welding was carried out, it stopped working. Sometimes it comes to life when the button is pressed other times...

Diesel holding back at 3000 rpm

Probably totally unconnected, but, recently I had no pulling power above 2.5k revs. Had turbo off and tested, ok, Fahad tested everything, egr etc, etc, all ok. Cleaned maf and eventually changed it, no change. Air filter out, all ok full power. Finally discovered a loose plastic cover over the...

    Continuing

Having thought my car was fixed of it's power loss, an interesting addendum is required. At my age some things tend to be overlooked  and after such an exhaustive strip down and rebuild, I was surprised when everything seemed to be returned complete, and further so when my cleaning of...

    It's back !!!

Thanks chaps, it will be driven as it should Fahad, with attention to the full rev range ;) See you soon I hope.

    It's back !!!

Well, no parts needed ! Took out and cleaned mass airflow sensor, and intake sensor, now the car accelerates like it should ! No hesitation and full power when foot planted, it's hard to believe that something so simple could have such a drastic effect. Hopefully it will stay as it is now. :)

Which aftermarket shock absorbers are best ?

I've had b4's on a few cars, standard and lowered, for me, very, very good. They would always be my first choice for a road car.

Diesel holding back at 3000 rpm

Doesn't sound dissimilar to my problem with ICDTI.

    It's back !!!

Sadly my pleasure at sorting things out didn't last long, loss of power is back with a vengeance. This time it went into limp mode and wouldn't reset using on/off method. It did however reset after a 15 min rest. I have been able to obtain fault codes now, 7d02, intake air temp sensor, 1 circuit...

    manifold and turbo removal

I think all the Japanese 2 strokes had a lot to thank Ernst Degner for. Without him they might never have got so far so soon.

    manifold and turbo removal

I was only joking about the porting Fahad, I know exhaust porting has minimal effect.I only did it to try out my new burrs and have spent ever since being agitated by the amount of miniscule filings in my hands.!!!

    manifold and turbo removal

I wasn't sure at first Fahad, and was almost scared of flooring it, so just treated it gently for a couple of days, but floored it today and it went well, so, as nothing else has been changed it had to be that. Or maybe it was the porting of the exhaust ports, LOL  .

    Rust

Well I'm glad that worked for you Rob, it's something I've never tried, I must keep that in mind.;)

    manifold and turbo removal

All done now:D. it wasn't as bad reassembling it all, just steady away and the results have made it worth it. The problem with acceleration beyond 2.5k revs seems to have gone, there is no smell of exhaust in the car when stationary and my dash tells me I'm getting 42.6 mpg at the moment all...
