Better late than never. :) Sounds like the duff HFT module is draining the battery. Do a search on this forum on how to remove it.

I have the same issue, it only CLUNKS the first time after starting. I've lived with it for 4 years, 40,000 miles later. I can feel it in the gas pedal that something is clunking into place, but it's not affecting the drive. Engine mount, perhaps?

Tried twisting the illumination knob. It might be set to low. Just a thought.

All the gas has leaked out of mine 2.2 in four weeks. The compressor was kicking in, so I know it works because it was ice cold just four weeks ago. Will be taking it to another air con place. Not a Honda dealer. Just checked my sensors: 1 - 43 2 - 22 3 - 60 4 - 63 5 - 38 6 - c9 7 - 01 8 - 00...

Same thing happened to me today. Unlocked the car, the alarm goes off. Stops. Open door. Alarm goes off. So I let the engine run whilst sitting still for five minutes. Then it was fine. Just removed the HFT module. It felt quite warm... will try again tomorrow.

Turned out to be clutch pedal box. It was on its last legs. It was transmitting vibrations into the cabin. The oil change helped too. ;) Engine much quieter now.

I used Saki autos in Birmingham.

I asked them to put in the Honda MTF oil. It doesn't mean that they have. I'll keep an eye on it for a few days and see how it goes. A new clutch sure makes this car more driveable.

Sorted. Just a bit of air. :) Plus, I noticed that the clutch has to be fully engaged for shifts 1, 2 and 3 to be smooth as the clutch beds in.

I had knocking on the left side and it turned out to be the steering rack. I had mine reconditioned and put back in, no problems since. Suspension is a big problem on these cars, they are not made for the narrow streets and humps of a big city.

Just had a new clutch fitted at an indie garage and I can't engage 1st and reverse. The others are okay when driving, but notchy when the engine's off. Any idea what it could be?

That's not what I'm asking. A few posters in the past have suggested that the machines Honda use are different from the Halfords machines. I dunno if that is true.

I'm having the car serviced this week and get them check the cabin vibrations. Wonder if it is an engine mount?

Clutch fluid might need changing...?

Is the Halfords machine the same as the one Honda dealers use?

Would a blocked EGR cause engine vibrations?

Engine vibrations are transmitting onto the steering wheel, back of the drivers seat, footwell and the dash at idle. Had the exhaust manifold done, so I can rule that out. It's done 92K. I don't think it's DMF. The engine note doesn't change with the clutch down. Any ideas?

Did some testing and there is no black smoking in my wake after the exhaust manifold change. Using regular Shell. Will try a tank of V Power soon.

I called Honda after the garage confirmed I had an "exhaust leak" which I had complained about before. The car's ten years old! Honda kindly offered to cover the cost of parts and labour. Gestures like these make me want to stay with the brand.
