Turn off the aircon, and cruise control at 70 and you'll get decent mpg -- definitely in the 50s.

One of the Bradford lads pointed out that I'm missing the cap covers on the headlights, which explains the excessive misting! Going to hunt for a pair from a breaker. The technician at HH said that you're bound to get some jolting, but the little exhaust fix cut a lot of it out. Nice meeting...

The problem was the exhaust rubber mount at the back shuddering. 30 second job to replace.

Put 30 quid in (half tank) and I'm only getting 200 miles - mostly urban driving. Filled up when the light came on. A little disappointing, because I was expecting 250 miles from 30 pounds of diesel.

Wow, a few people are having issues with the car jolting when switching off. I'm starting to wonder if the engine mounts are the real culprit here.

I haven't taken it in because I want Holdcroft to look at it before I let anyone else touch it. It's not really bothering me and since there is no clutch slip or noise from the flywheel. I get no vibrations when driving, though.

Ah! So the VSA is always on?

When I start my car sometimes I get "CHECK VSA SYSTEM" on the instrument panel, then it disappears. I press the VSA button and the warning triangle lights up. I'll get HH to look at it at the meet.

Sounds exactly like my car. My DMF is most likely going, I haven't had a chance to take it to the garage; see what Holdcroft say at the end of the month and decide what to do.

LOL I've spent about 140 quid on fuel and it's given me a thousand miles. Ain't too shabby.

It's your car, you do what you want. If everything else is working, 600 quid to keep it running for a little longer is better than spending several thousand more on something else...? That's your choice. Clutch is wear/tear item anyway.

I did a 200 mile round trip on the motorway. Used about 20 quid's worth of Shell normal diesel at £1.38 per litre. Averaged around 54MPG. Cruising at 70mph in sixth seemed ideal for getting the most mpg.

2.2 EX has a brilliant spec for the money.

Filled up with Shell V-Power Diesel and the mpg is around 48. Virtually all urban driving.

It's stopped reacting to my commands. I press the talk button and it beeps -- "CD TRACK ONE" -- pause -- "Say again..." I keep repeating it, but it doesn't recognise my voice. Is there a reset button? :D

Is it cheaper to take it to Honda and get the diagnostics done there?

Did a mixture of motorway and urban driving and I'm heading for around 420.

The DMF is covered under their warranty. I'll be taking it in a few days and I'll let you know what happens.

I'll try shell next week. I filled the tank with Tesco diesel last week so it will be worth doing a comparison if there's a difference.
