Gear Shifting issue on my beloved Auto '03 2.4 Accord

Pressure switches could well be failing. There's two, 3rd and 4th, 3rd is the most likely to be failing. You have to remove the battery and battery tray to access it but it's a plug n play type thing. You'd need to order one from a Honda dealer and they aren't the cheapest thing at £65 each.

    Transmission issue - P0847

This is from the Honda Accord workshop manual: DTC P0847: Short in 3rd Clutch Transmission Fluid Pressure Switch Circuit, or 3rd Clutch Transmission Fluid Pressure Switch Stuck ON NOTE: Record all freeze data and review General Troubleshooting Information before you troubleshoot. This...

    Transmission issue - P0847

Been a while, life seems to be going at warp speed over the last year! Anyway the Accord has been fine, until this week: Decided on a short break in S.Wales and all was good until a check transmission warning came on and the green D started flashing :( . Anyway, turned off and left for a...

High mileage petrol accord - a good buy?

If it's got a decent history then 133k wouldn't bother me. Mine had 120k when I bought it, history was good, drove sweet, feels fresh as a daisy. Go on the TSX forums and 133k is low mileage.

What other cars have people got/had

My chequered past: VW Polo - A wonderful 1984 model complete with vinyl roof. My first car when I was 17, would've been Feb '96 I think. Sierra - mates dad died, I gave him a few quid for it :) Honda Concerto - Uni car, 1.6 with twin carbs, not sure what previous owner had done but it was...

    Wiper blade replacement.

I use OEM but you do have to keep them clean or else they start to stutter and get noisy. I more or less wash my car every week so I always give them a thorough clean then.

Broken down - Airbag, VSA, abs and warning lights on, can't won't start

It is branded Denso, has 'made in Japan' on it which is always nice to see. I emailed them a couple of times and they confirmed it's a genuine item. The company selling it is a large well established company. You don't have to send your old unit back, you just buy that one at that price and...

Diesel bashing thread! (Only kidding - pros and cons discussion)

I'd take my chances, at least it's domestic spending and we're not funding obscenely rich nations who in my opinion fund much of the terrorism in the world.

Diesel bashing thread! (Only kidding - pros and cons discussion)

The big factor for me is the need to reduce our dependence on oil from the middle east. Moving to EV and hybrid vehicles should have a big impact on this and maybe we can get away from the likes of Qatar buying football tournaments and footballers for 9 billion dollars or whatever it is.

    Joined the dark side..

Well after driving the A3 back to back with my Accord over quite a few miles it has thrown up some interesting comparisons; the hydraulic steering on the Accord is much nicer than the artificial electric steering on the A3. I like the little 3 cyl turbo the A3 uses but it's no K24, doubles the...

Mrs only done short town journeys this week, car computer showing MPG in the low 40s, not bad for a brand new engine and a driver who doesn't know there's gears 4-6 available.

Spent a bit more time with it, one thing I don't like is the MMI system. I know it's supposedly one of the best systems out there so I probably should just criticise the Audi system but why so complicated? How many screens do you need? To change channel on the radio you either need to use the...

    It was an easy mistake..

That hydro suspension  I would never have such problems with my missus as she wouldn't have a clue how to open the bonnet. Quite impressive what a mess 5l of screenwash does to an engine. I think an oil change and a can of seafoam will sort it out.
