When I bought mine the previous owner had installed a cable which you pulled to open the boot latch. I had a look at it and now it works with the handle to unlock the catch but as a normal boot you lift up yourself.

Not sure with Hondas, but from my experience with other cars, you can retro fit things but you will then need a honda computer to enable the part. Whether the Accord has this as an option to add on is a separate matter.... Hopefully someone more clued in will respond soon!
