I had a vectra Sri cdti 150 (the fiat engine) and have to say that imo, it was a better engine than the Honda until fahad mapped it (stage 2, egr off). I did have the egr go on the vectra as well. Both were better than the 2.2 duratorq engine in my mondeo...pap!! :(

Like fahad said, keep your wits about you!! I test drove one with a shade over 170k and it seemed ok, the maths didn't pan out with servicing tho, 11 stamps for 170k :( Likely to be motorway miles though so the engine could be fairly unstressed!

Is an 8th gen actually bigger than a 7th? When I test drove a few it felt really small, almost like the difference between a focus estate and a mondeo!

I drove my accord with stage 2 map and a slipping clutch for just shy of 40k. Drive with a bit of mechanical sympathy now that you know it's starting to slip and it should be ok for a while!

My perception is that the innards of the dpf are removed, so from the outside, it looks like it's still there. This will *not* fail an mot and won't make the emissions bad enough to. Obviously the dpf needs to then be mapped out so that it doesn't regen anymore. From an mot point of view, don't...

I had a stage 2 on my accord. Yeah it smoked a bit but with the egr off, you have to expect it! It made the car what Honda should have made it and apart from their incompetence with clutches it was 100% worth doing

Means you don't have oem ones, doesn't mean you can't fit em yourself tho! ;) I did and have to admit, I didn't think much of them, although that was probably just me as others seem to get on with them well!

It's not broke, just bent into a curve to get it around the bulb. I can't believe they don't sell the part! I've got it out so will just have to bend it :(

According to Honda, the thin bit of wire that holds the dipped beam headlight bulb in cannot be bought separately and I'll need a whole new headlight to get one!!! Any ideas? Since I took my crappy hids out, the wire doesn't quite hold the bulb straight......

What about the diesel models? The ex gt seems to have auto headlight adjustment which suggests that it has them?

Out of interest, is there an 8th gen model that comes with hid's as standard or are they always an optional extra?

Quick update, they are definitely much better with 4300k bulbs, although they are still rubbish compared to the oem ones in my good ladies land rover discovery! Back to Halogen it is for me!
