    Honda Satnav fixed price repairs

I remember now that I looked at buying a second-hand unit on eBay, but couldn't be sure it wouldn't have the same problem as mine. I also looked at replacement mechanisms on Aliexpress, but I was put off by the delivery time (20-27 days). How long did you have to wait?

    Honda Satnav fixed price repairs

"I would urge you to just buy a replacement internal cartridge and replace it yourself, far easier and a better outcome. " Well that's what Sami did in the end, so at the price you found replacing the mechanism yourself makes sense.

    New Battery - what type?

Contacted Holdcroft recently for a price on a new battery but they said they can't post batteries any more as their carrier won't accept them.

Sat nav problems linked to air-conditioning?

Cleaning the lens seemed to solve the problem for a few months, then the disc reading errors started again and got to the point where the satnav was unusable, so I had it fixed by the guy Fahad recommended. I've added some details here...

    Honda Satnav fixed price repairs

Disc read errors had increased to the point where the satnav was unusable and I ***umed the lens was the problem. Alpine/Dtronix quoted £220 plus the cost of parts. Sami quoted me £150. The lens turned out to be ok when Sami checked it, so he replaced the motherboard and returned the unit to...

Sat nav problems linked to air-conditioning?

Thanks for the suggestions and a quick update on this. I did consider driving down to Spain to see if the heat cured the problem, but instead, due to lack of time and money, I tried cleaning the DVD, squirting some canned air into the DVD player and using a knife and wipe to see if I could...

Sat nav problems linked to air-conditioning?

Just had a replacement a/c condenser fitted. On the way home I started getting a sat nav disc read error. This has never happened before. Is this just coincidence, or does the dvd player maybe not like being colder than it's used to? It's a genuine dvd which I've been using for a few months...

2007 2.0 petrol Tourer fuel consumption?

I get an average of around 34mpg in mixed driving. The best I've got was an average of 38mpg on a long trip across Europe (http://typeaccord.co.uk/forum/topic/11662-mpg-and-petrol-prices-in-europe/).

    Steering rack

A whining noise linked to engine revs turned out to be low power steering fluid level. The cause seems to be a leak from the steering rack, which I'm told needs replacing - £1700 new, or half that for reconditioned. That set me thinking about reputations for reliability and service costs...

    Reverse Parking Sensors

My local Honda dealer - Springfield Newcastle - has offered to fit rear parking sensors to my Accord Tourer for £150. Which is nice of them. I can't recall having reversed into anything since 1976, but then my memory isn't what it was. However, nor are my neck muscles, so is it worth getting...

What colour is your 7th gen.

Mostly mud-brown at the moment, but underneath nightblack pearl, with hints of one or two other colours where people have used it for target practice when parking.

    How Many 8th Gen Owners?

Thinking about changing my 7th Gen Tourer for an 8th Gen. I don't do enough miles to make a diesel worthwhile, but the current Which? report gives the petrol version just 2 stars for breakdowns (based on 87 reports). My 7th Gen has been very reliable. Should I believe the Which? report?
