I did consider the DPF removal altogether but it's my fault it blocked in the first place. I haven't had a working Air Con Compressor for some time and didn't realise that the Air Con system was used as part of the purge on the Accord. I should also add that the company I'm sending it too don't...

    Parts-Honda.uk

Yeh I agree fully. I’ve removed the DPF and it should be winging its way to Pontefract on Monday for restoring. The company that’s cleaning it will fix it or no fee and it’s significantly cheaper than a new DPF for now. I’ll bear the links in mind you’ve provided just in case it is indeed a...

    Parts-Honda.uk

Good evening, Has anyone had any experience of ordering from parts-Honda.uk? I need a few large components and they seem to have the cheapest rate for genuine Honda that I can find. Hopefully you can share your experiences before I purchase an air con compressor and DPF...

    A/C Compressor clutch not engaging

Hi, a little further forward but no solution as of yet. Sorry its taken a while to reply, been away with work. I've been to Honda just to enquire about cost of parts. They were kind enough to lend me a relay to slave in, and discount that from the diagnosis. I also shorted a split pin across the...

    Boot won't open !

TKR Yeh, if you jump in the boot from a back door, remove the trim at the back and the lever is visible, flick that and pop opens the boot. Check the door window switches in case one has failed and its preventing the tail gate opening, I had this exact issue.

    A/C Compressor clutch not engaging

Hey folks, Going through a rough patch with this damn car. After fitting a new caliber the other week, to servicing and boots not opening, well you get the idea. The latest problem is involved with the air conditioning. It wasn't blowing as chilly as I like it (being Scottish, it...

    Fuel Filter Cap Seized

The genuine Honda tool would have been ideal, but I just couldn't justify the £50 odd quid for the occasional use. Got it sussed for next time haha

    Fuel Filter Cap Seized

just a quick update on the old fuel filter dilemma, managed to use a decent (massive) sized breaker bar and a chain wrench (on a socket Hex) and pop, off it came without much more bother! therefore if in doubt, persevere and just use a bigger tool!!! I wouldn't recommend any of the cheap amazon...

    Tailgate won't open!

Hello! Just a follow up to let you know how I got on. Turns out the auto-electrician didn't have much luck and recommended a dealer job. Since the car was booked to get a new (free) sunroof due to corrosion, I asked if they could also have a look at the tailgate/window/wing mirror fault...

    Fuel Filter Cap Seized

Matt, yeh that's probably the case! Monkey logic in my opinion. Bloody frustrating regardless. I've just been in Halfords and picked up a chain wrench so give it a shot in the coming days and let you know, as you said I don't want all the crud in the fuel line

    Tailgate won't open!

Hey guys thanks for recommendations. I've tried my hand at some self diagnosis, managed to pop open the boot via the manual lever hidden inside behind the panel (just above lock) and boot closes perfectly on the key. Discounted the tailgate from the problem. Did have a look at the passenger side...

    Fuel Filter Cap Seized

John, yeh that's the one, well one of the three ;). The I-DTEC fuel filter, hidden away behind the fuse box on RH side. New caps ordered so cold chisel will be out in due time!

    Another Rusty Sunroof

Hey, Just off the phone with Honda. My sunroof had rusted in a similar fashion to yours and after getting a quote just short of £800 asked how much Honda would contribute. Good news as although its outwith the extended sunroof warranty, a claim was submitted regardless and Honda will replace it...

    Tailgate won't open!

After the fiasco I've had recently with fuel filter caps being seized and my O/S Rear caliper seizing resulting in a full rear set of pads and discs, the last thing I need is to arrive at my car and find it odd that the indicator lights don't flash when I unlock the car. Further to this when I...

    Fuel Filter Cap Seized

After scouring the topics here I decided to change my own fuel filter. For what should have been a half hour job, its turned into a complete nightmare!!! No issue with moving the fusebox out the way and removing the inlet hose. After buying an 89mm, 15 flute socket (not the original Honda but an...

    Service Warning Light

You can reset it yourself bud, set the ignition to the 'II' position, and bring up the service page on the display. Press the odometer reset stalk and hold for a couple of seconds until the menu changes. It will give you 2 options. One is the reset option, and one is the exit. Click the select...

    Engine whirring not whining

Not sure about a short belt to be fair, would that cause this symptom as it misses a pulley? With regards to the TSB's, where do you source these, first time hearing of them and I'm intrigued? Thanks for the replys, narrows it down no end. I'll have a vid up tomorrow after I have a mooch.

    Engine whirring not whining

Hey, Hoping an expert could shed some light on a mysterious whirring. My 2.2 ICTDI Accord has developed a mechanical whirring sound from the top of the engine. It seems to be very intermittent, there one day and gone the next. The whirr kicks in at 2000 revs and stays all the way up the...

I am still in that frame of mind, still on this course so not had a chance to get my hands dirty and find out what the deal is. I'll let you know how it goes as I get back on Friday. Wish me luck haha
