Hi

I am planing to buy 8 gen of honda accord and think about 2.4AT prefacelift.
I never drive AT in my life,i drive 4 hondas during 10 years ,last 2 was diesels EX, all manuals.
I am bit scared to buy AT as i read loads of info how expensive are AT gearboxes when they brake.
I got few questions about it ,maybe someone can ensure me if i am doing right.
I found car which is from 2009 2.4AT with 71K

Does anyone knows what are the common issues with AT gearbox if something usually break?
does it break quite often?
whats the cost of parts if it breaks?
is 71K is a lot for the AT?

I read at this forum that new AT gearbox cost around 7K which is worth of the car.

Can i get any advice on this please?

Thanks

Have a look at the fluid - is it burnt or pink
I replaced the fluid in my car (Honda) recently at 60K+ miles - and the outgoing fluid was still pink - which I took as a very good sign

Note that I am not an expert - I have had two cars with AT and changed fluid on a regular basis. The last car did 180K+ miles and the AT (car was not a Honda) was solid - the rest less so (Air Con evaporator and drivers side window switch pack might as well have been made from Chocolate - had three switchpacks and either 4 or 5 evaporators).
