I have noticed my 2007 Accord 2.4 Executive feels a bit slugish when accelerating in 2nd and 3rd gear, could this be a Oxygen sensor? no lights on dash. The car has done 26K and just has a major service using oem parts and Fuch's 5W 30 fully synthetic.I maybe comparing the perormance to the wifes 2005 Type S Accord, which has plenty of go and sounds a bit more gruff but i am sure it's standard. My Accord has 18" Storm's and the wifes 17" epsilon, could this make the difference along with my extra weight of the EX?

When my Accord gets going a bit then it pulls very strong. I like driving chilled most of the time 55-60 mph with cruise on returning 38-39 mpg, could i just need to clear her out a bit? do these cars ECU learn driving chararistics?

Thanks Keef

Depends on how you're driving her.

If you're getting 38-39 mpg then you're just taking it easy in 5th or 6th at 2.5k to 3k revs.

With the 2.4 the power is directly proportional to the revs and a dyno graph shows a straight line all the way up so the engine puts out at the wheels

2000rpm 40bhp

3000rpm 80bhp

4000rpm 110bhp

5000rpm 130bhp

6000rpm 140bhp - the graph is levelling off here but at 6k rpm VTEC engages on the 7th gen

7000rpm 160 bhp

So if you want the power from this engine you'll find it at the top end of the revs in 2nd or 3rd.
