Hi, I need to adhest the handbrake as it is not tight enough, I pulled the handbrake lever too far up and it got stuck and I had a struggle to release it, now it seems the brakes are binding on the rear drivers side and the alloy wheel is hot.
I have pulled the back trim off the centre console but there is no adjusting nut, if I lift the arm rest the rubber mat where the 12v socket and USB is seems to be glued in place and I am unable to remove it.

The wheel getting hot could be the disc brake binding.

Adjust the brakes at the wheels not the centre console.
Jack the rear up, with wheels off, there is a small black rubber plug in the brake drum it has a slot moulded into it.
Remove the plug and use a flat blade screwdriver to move the adjuster gearwheel up or down (can't remember) to tighten the shoes against the drum. Once the shoes start to bind back the gearwheel off about 4-5 clicks and try the handbrake again.
Do this evenly for both sides. until there is even pressure on the handbrake and both wheels pullup evenly, try it at low speed on a gravel surface and see if they lock evenly

Thanks mate I will give that a try at the weekend as I have still not been able to find any way to adjust the cable.
The heated disc issue seemed to be a sticking caliper which I have sorted now.

I seem to have a sticking caliper on driver's side rear, as it's much warmer than the other side, but not crazy smelly hot, yet... so any tips on how to unstick it would be much appreciated.S

I've only had the car a couple of months, so haven't done any work on it, not even taken the wheel off yet. A new learning curve as this is my first Honda.

It's a 2012 CTDI Tourer,

I think the only real solution is to either refurbish or replace the offending caliper.
This is an issue that I had to deal with this year, I bought a kit and replaced the seal/bellows and piston. I also used red rubber grease under the seal and around the piston to prevent corrosion which is what causes the issue in the first instance.
