Accord Tourer 2.4 EX
Hi. Having to think hard on replacing the clutch on our Tourer. Just over 102K miles. Quoted £1250 inc VAT fitted at the local garage in Reading. Clutch is not slipping, pedal is just very hard to press and garage reckons its the clutch spring getting to end of life. My worry, beyond the bill being well over 50% of the value of the car, is that the split the transmission and tell me the flywheel needs replacing as well.
Anyone have experience with a 2.4 at this mileage they could share? Cheers, John

Have you tried replacing the fluid ?

I have been putting off a replacement for at least two years, sometimes on the ictdi there is virtually no slip at all (except in fifth which I rarely use these days as all my work is local)

On the other thread there is a youtube video in DIY which I hope to use when the time comes, I have already got the parts and tools lined up.

Unless you have experienced vibration you could find the DMF is fine, I have little intention of replacinng mine.
