2012 Facelift headlights fit Pre Facelift 2009?

Sorry if I've missed this being answered on a previous thread.

Is this retrofit possible?
- Simple "plug and play" fit?
- Are the fixings and the wiring the same?

Yes, should be straight fit, but depends on which spec 12 model, as some were HID and active cornering I believe.

I would like the Facelift headlights with HID. Don't care for active cornering, my.2009 car wouldn't have the necessary wiring/tech for that system (unless the headlight performs this operation autonomously.)

Any direction in which specific 2012 model to go with, for my 2009 EX.

I'd recommend getting a HID kit for your existing lights.
Facelift and pre Facelift parts dont easily swap over.

Thanks for the advice. My only concern is the legality of the HID kit approach.

If I notify my insurance of this modification will that be enough or can police still pull me over and get arsy about a HID mod?
