'54 EX Steering wheel switch gear lights?

Hi,

This may be a stupid question, but should the steering wheel switchgear (cruise, audio vol etc) on a pre facelift 7th Gen Accord be lit when the headlights are on? I can't believe they wouldn't be but mine aren't :-(

Not a silly question at all and we pondered over this question for ages a year back... basically if your car is 54 reg or older you won't have illuminated steering controls.. Honda sneakily made some updates to 05 onwards Accords including a hazard switch that lights up completely, steering control illumination and a silver bezel on the volume knob.
