Couple of questions:

1. Why is the CD button marked CD AUX? It raises my hopes that there's an AUX input somewhere but the owner's manual refers to it as just a CD selection button. I'm pretty sure there is no AUX function but am puzzled by what the button says on it.
2. I have no CD multichanger in my car. Was it an optional plug-in? If so, can something be connected in place of it to allow an AUX function?
3. There seem to be kits out there on the market for the Accord factory system to allow iPod connection, but only for the Honda / Pioneer system - they exclude the Honda / Bose system. Grrr! Why is that? What connections does the Pioneer system have that the Bose doesn't? Seems a bit odd.
4. I have the factory subwoofer in the boot. It works but doesn't seem to have much output, and no independent means of adjusting it. Am I missing something? I've biased the front / rear fade to the rear to try and add a bit more bass depth, but it's not really ideal. Would have thought a Bose system was capable of more than that? Just sold my SE saloon with the standard rear deck speakers, and there was a lot more bass from them.

Any experience or knowledge of this, thrown my way, would be helpful!

Thanks

Sorry, message duplicate twice, PC saying post submission failed but clearly it hadn't! Can a moderator please delete two of the duplicates as I can't find a way to do it.

Cheers

I would be interested in that as well, if someone knows about it!

Good, I'm glad I'm not the only one wondering!

So, any answers out there from those in the know...??

Would any of these solutions work?

Chuck the standard headunit and fit one with all the functionality you need. I also removed the standard subwoofer and fitted a powered Infinity sub in the boot.

That certainly looks like the answer. Did the Infinity unit fit in the spot where the Bose came out?

No, it is a self contained box with built in amplifier that just sits in the boot. It isn't too big and I wired it in with quick disconnects for the cables so I can remove it in less than a minute if I need the boot space.

This isn't my car, but it should give you an idea of what I have.

If you were to replace the Bose head unit, would the speakers/sub all work as normal?

Is it just normal connections behind the headunit? i.e. 4 pairs of wires for the main speakers plus rca cables for the sub?

Is there a downside to ditching the Bose headunit? Does it have any fancy sound processing that wont be recreated by an aftermarket jobby?

I don't think the sub will work, but I couldn't say for sure as I removed mine at the same time I was fitting the headunit. The car has proprietary connectors and there are ISO adapters available but the one that I bought (was advertised as Bose specific) didn't work so I would up having to do a fair bit of swapping wires around.

Most aftermarket headunits have enough power to drive the standard speakers so I wouldn't worry about bypassing the Bose amplifier.
