Hi folks, noob here.

I have a 7th Gen 2007 Accord EX+Nav version.
I currently have a lip spolier on the rear boot (which was purchased off ebay a few years ago) but I think it's too subtle.

I'd like to upgrade away from the lip type and have found one on eBay which ships from Germany to the UK.
Link for the spoiler:

Now I notice that the 7th Gen have a center rear (third) brake light in the rear window and I reckon a spoiler of this style will obscure the third brake light. I'm looking for advice on the following:

1. Has anyone got any advice regarding this type of spoiler on a 7th Gen? More specifically is the third brake light obscured by the spoiler?
2. I can choose to pay an extra £25 to have a brake light included in the spoiler itself. this is of LED type and if I go with this option I'm a bit worried that the LED lights won't look that good with the rest of hy stock (non-LED) rear lights. Any advice on this?

Any advice at all would be a help.

Thanks folks.

Yes I can see your concern here,

I fitted rear led's in all rear lights (no spoiler) and it caused all sorts of electrical gremlins on my Pre-Facelift i-cdti I eventually went back to standard bulbs as I was fed up resetting the car after glow plug lights and warning lamps came on intermittently, even my car alarm started playing up (activated the siren during a motorway trip, a fun half hour!)

I'm not sure what the Oem Pre-Faclift spoiler's third brake light was (halogen / led) as this is what you need but sourcing them can be difficult.

A breakers yard might be a better option. they look just like the one your looking at but as there Oem no issues with the electrical system.

The 7th gen high mounted spoiler is a an LED stop lamp afaik, and it doesn't cover up the existing rear lamp. The one in the link looks high enough not to obscure the lamp too ;) For some reason I'm thinking the oem lamp eliminates the use of the lamp in the rear window, I could be very wrong though

Hi folks

A huge thanks for your replies. I spoke to the seller today and he didn;t know much about the LED lights (also my German isn't very good).
But he did speak to his supplier and phone me back. He doesn;t know if the spolier is high enough to aviod obscuring the exisiting rear brake light, so not much user there.

HOWEVER I asked him ore info about what happens if one of the LED bulbs blows, do I have to replace the whole LED unit or simply one bulb, he replied that the whole unit would have to be replaced and he doesn't know the cost. Useful... NOT!!

So I've done sime googling myself, it appears that light fixtures within spoilers are prone to water ingress and damage so I'm likely to need to replace the whole LED unit at some point. And if the LED unit in the spolier is a specilist part that I'm going to have to order from Germany then I'm going to have to shell out ££££££ just to get replacement bulbs. Excuse my language but WTF.... is it that diffilcult to get a high mounted spoiler for 7th gen?

As for Tiberious' suggestion, are you suggesting that I search for a pre-face lift spolier (with brake light) from a breakers yeard and put this on my facelift accord? If so (very daft question coming up) then how can I be sure my car is indeed facelife version?

Or save yourself the hassle and get a mugen style boot spoiler.... B)

Hi Schritzer

Thanks for the input, but the Mugen spoilers are too flambouyant for my liking. Well the thing is, with that spoiler I'd need to also get the side skirts, rear valance etc otherwise it just won;t look right with the mugen spoiler alone.

Larrrvely, where can I got one of those (1st pic not the 2nd pic)

I've got a original one for sale with built in brake light, you simply disconnect the one in the window and plug it into the spoiler.

And yes it does obscure the window light, pm me if your interested ;)

In the link is an oem spoiler and the stop lamp is a replaceable piece fo £44 mind you
