8th Gen 'Auto-lights' function?

Hello folks

My Auto lights feature, on my 8th Gen Accord 2.0l ex, is almost totally useless - as it has to be really dark before they operate.
Anyone know if it can be made 'more sensitive' and come on earlier??

TBO I don't use mine but you could try cleaning the sensor on the dash

Noticed the same in my 8th gen accord tourer. It needs to be really dark for the lights to turn on in auto-mode.
I want them to turn on earlier. Did anyone try to (partly) cover the light sensor with (black) tape?

Not sure and don't really bother with the auto lights function.

Yes the lights take a noticeably longer time to come on than in our Mercedes.
