Hi new on here. Just bought a used 2009 plate 2.0 petrol EX. Started to notice an intermittent noise from the driver's side dash/windscreen corner area which can be best described as a "snick" similar to a small stone chip noise on glass. Looks like the windscreen has been replaced as no Honda markings. No cracks evident though.

Are the dashboards generally quiet?

Any ideas or cures?

Thanks

Hi and welcome.

Check the exterior windscreen side trims are secure. The window fitter might not have clipped them back in and just tried to glue them. They may be vibrating against the screen.

There was a recall on them, but Honda won't fix it for free if they have been bodged.

Generally the Accord is a quiet car.

Hope you sort it.

Rich

Thanks for the reply Rich. Would this repair be covered under the standard 12 month warranty as I bought at a Honda dealership?

Yes mate this will be covered under your 12 warranty

Yep all under warranty. The only other thing it might be, loose wiper arm bolts after the windscreen change, or rattling wipers. But hopefully its got the original equipment Honda ones on, they are quite sleek and plastic framed items.

I have funny noise from my dash that seems to be something to do with air con or heater blower.

Comes on now and again but have just noticed air con isn't cold but it was gassed 6 months ago and not used since so I guess fault with blower/air con?

As might cause dpf issue the car is going in next week

The heater fans can be a bit noisy on the higher settings, mine can whine a bit sometimes.

Lee, aircon use it or lose it mate....

Surprised you dont use it on those damp days to suck the condensation out of the car.

Old car I used to but this doesn't seem to need it
