Hi, just got a 2004 2.2i diesel, just had a full service last week, drove about 80 miles since, then ABS light came on whilst driving, brakes seem fine, can I easily reset this, or is it back to garage,
Is this a common prob?
I'm new to honda accords, any help would be great, thanks

Hi David,

It's a common enough problem... sorry to say that it can become a very expensive repair if it's the VSA unit that has become faulty, so hopefully it's just a wheel sensor playing up.

You could try disconnecting the battery for at least 20 minutes to see if that resets the problem. Did the recent service include work on the brakes?

I'm not sure how well this 'trick' works for reading ABS/VSA error codes (I've never tried), but might be worth a try... http://typeaccord.co.uk/forum/topic/15136-fault-codes-trick/

Otherwise, you need to visit a garage that has equipment suitable for reading error codes ***ociated with the ABS/VSA system... a Snap-On machine or Honda Diagnostic System will do this, but there may be others that will also do this, A normal OBD2 reader will not read these codes though.
