Hi team

I have just bought my 2nd Accord cl9, this model is a 2.4EX+ with I believe all the extras.

I am having issue with the ACC LKAS system, after driving the car for few miles the warning light comes on and the system cuts of, disabling me to use Cruise control and ACC LKAS as they are both linked together, for it to reset I have to switch the car off and on for the light to go and system to activate...

can any one advice what could be the cause of this?!!!

Hi Umair,

Well first of all you've a rare 7th gen, the LKAS option was a significant optional extra on the 2.4 auto that very few went for.

Anyhow, unfortunatley to determine the issue it will have to be read by a Honda Diagnostic System (HDS) that a Honda dealer will have. The code will be quite specific, but will give you good info.

As an aside, make sure that the ACC/LKAS camera/sensor isn't just covered in dirt. It's behind the Honda badge on the front.
 
I thought the LKAS camera was behind the mirror in the windscreen, radar for cmbs/acc is usually behind the grille....

You're right, it is. Still make sure it's not covered in dirt! :)

You say this is linked to the VSA, as that warning light is coming on also? Could it be if there's an issue with the VSA it takes out the LKAS too? If so, it might be worth cleaning the VSA switch on the brake pedal. There's a guide here and could put the whole thing right for free and little more than 15 minutes work.

Hi guys
thanks for all the advice, I ended up taking the car at my local Honda dealer and got it sorted.

it was just the matter of having the codes to be reset, thankfully it was all covered under the Honda warranty :)
