Hi folks

hopefully this post will not be deleted :) No references are being made to any supplier / trader / pricing...

I have a Honda accord 2005 2.2 ictdi executive so it's the preface model I’m in need of a fly wheel. A local salvage yard has a 2011 civic 2.2ictdi they are currently breaking. They tell me the fly wheels are the same. is this right?

All replies / thoughts are appreciated

Many Thanks
Immy

This is the Lings Honda site details for a 2005 Accord...http://www.lingshondaparts.com/honda_car_parts_selection_pfk.php?block_01=17SED01&block_02=E__4800&block_03=608

This is a 2010 Civic EX... http://www.lingshondaparts.com/honda_car_parts_selection_pfk.php?block_01=17SMG901&block_02=E__4800&block_03=16815

Which is the same flywheel part number (not a Honda part number though, but I can convert that to a Honda number, if you like).

HOWEVER, I didn't have the option to select a 2011 'Civic'... there are other Civic options, but I don't know the details of the one in the scrappy. Try and get the registration or VIN and enter that into Lings site yourself, just to be sure before buying.

TBO I would go for a new one as the work involved to change the clutch and flywheel is about 5.5 hours labour.

Hmm that's true for the sake of saving a few hundred quid doesn't seem worth taking the risk with a used part :)

Also if you buy new it will come with a 12 month warrenty if you use an approved dealer to do the work.
If you have an independent do the work make sure they have the proper clutch setting tool.
If not you might be changing it again in 12 months
