Hi lads im stuck here i drive a 2004 cdti accord
Recently its had new manifold and new timing chains and tensioners

But lately when i drive im getn what seems to be a diesel knock when drove on
When car is in neutral and is revved up dyrs no noise it drives perfect still but this knock is only happenin wen drove on and im worried help :)))

Welcome among fella glad you got signed up ok.

The engine isn't under much load when in neutral, so 'diesel knock' wouldn't be so noticeable. Does it seem to be running well and doing decent MPG?

Ok this morning i loosened of the big nut on top of each injector 1 at a time (to test them and see if dy were pumpining 2 much)
As i loosened each 1 thsn drove it and came back and tightened it i tried the next 1 each time 1 injector bolt was loosened the knock stopped obviosly because it droped pressure
Do i need new injectors??

As you took each injector in turn did you notice a drop in revs on any of them? you should note a drop if any of them make no difference then that's the one to suspect.

I didnt take notice to b honest are these prone to injector probs?? I only barely loosened them enough to leave a trickle out .. So i should check for a drop in revs??

As you crack the pipe nut diesel will spill and you will hear a drop in revs, if you don't then that cylinder is not firing, cause could be no diesel getting there, injector, valve clearances, loss of compression. but if the first instance proves to be the case then a visit to a Honda workshop will be the best course of action. Never suffered from this symptom myself 178,000 miles. But had probs with boat engines (Ford Sabre) and learned quite a bit about the old fashioned systems. Definately not up in the modern scheme of things, a diesel knock is generally caused by no fuel getting to the injector/cylinder.

All injectors are fed from a common fuel rail, therefore loosening an injector fuel supply connection will cause the fuel pressure available to all injectors to drop. And the fuel will squirt out so hard it could cause harm to you (up to something like 26,000 PSI), so I wouldn't do this.

As you've just had a couple of major jobs done by Honda, I suggest you take it back and complain that they appear to have left it with a problem.

Like I said not up on these modern systems, best place is back to people who "fixed" it.

For info, here are some details of our common rail system... http://www.yildiz.edu.tr/~oisin/Dersler/Dersnotlari/0653611/dinjection.pdf ...ours is the generation 2 (with the CP3 pump).

Can an injector then be rendered inoperable by simply taking the wire off, so that it is not activated?? and would it not have the same effect as cracking the supply on an older type engine.

I'm not sure, tbh, but I suggest that you can't simply remove the injector electrical connection - the ECU would sense the lack of an electrical circuit, ***ume there was a 'critical' fault, then shut down the engine to protect it from the massive imbalance this situation would create.

Perhaps Mikey can try it and let us know what happens?

Ive it sorted 2 of 4 seals were leaking injector1 and injector4 put in new seals no knocking sweet:)
Obviosly since the timing chain was done as they didnt reseal properly i changed all 4 nd perfect
