accord oil filter seals

just to re ***ure my ageing memory,does the big rubber engine oil filter seal go on the second last groove of the filter????

The rubber seal on the filter sits between the outside groove and the inside groove. It should be a snug fit and the rib of the rubber should be away from the filter towards the engine. If it has come apart, use some engine oil to lubricate it and re-insert it into the filter. Don't re-use an oil rubber seal.

Duh - and not I just realized you were talking about the diesel, not a petrol. The larger O ring goes roughly in the middle.
