Hi guys,
long time posting... just looking to chuck a nice stainless ebay cheapy on my daily 2000 Accord 2.0i SE...

Alll I can seem to find on ebay is stuff for a 94-97 and sometimes 98 reg saloon/coupe...

just found this...

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/HONDA-ACCORD-SALOON-1-8-2-0-2-2-VTEC-2-3-94-97-STAINLESS-STEEL-EXHAUST-SYSTEM-/230968435940?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&fits=Model%3AAccord&hash=item35c6caa4e4

Which looks VERY similar to my current catback exhaust that's fitted... including the bend design etc - now I've emailed the seller but would prefer some feedback from actual accord owners...

To my knowledge it's a mk6 Accord I own... so if anyone here has any info or a alternative cheapy catback that'd be awesome...

Also does anyone know if I decat it, will it set off and EML? As if so I'll just keep the cat... the current catback isn't bad it's just not what I want looks/sound wise...

Anyways cheers for any input/insight on this... It'd be sweet to find that they fit so then I could chuck a decat and a 4-2-1 on there whilst I'm at it as the 4-2-1 is only £99-120-200 at most and all look to be rip offs of each other...

Cheers,

Keef

EDIT:

Just received the following useless reply from the ebayers lol.

Hi,

Thanks for your email,
I am sorry but as we don't fit the items here I can only advise you that the item is to fit the Honda Accord Saloon1.8i, 2.0i, 2.2i VTEC + 2.3i 1994 - 1997.

Kind Regards

Tbh I think you should consider a custom made one or atleast get them to do the pipe work. Will save you so much hassle. Maybe just source a nice back box.

no mate that's exactly the opposite of what I want to do no offense...
the car cost me very little so I want to keep it that way, as I say it's only my daily so cheap mods ftw...

there's no point chucking money at it if it's not boosted or running an H-swap...

I only plan to keep it till sept/oct and at the most renewal next march... I just miss my civic's ridiculous exhaust note and being that this engages vtec so early in comparison to b/d series vtec's it'd be a shame not too...

but yeah it is tempting to just cheat with a back box but i think it deserves atleast a full cheap stainless system. I'm definitely not chucking more than £200-250 at it for a catback...

I have fallen in to the cheap Ebay exhaust trap before and regretted it. You have no comeback if the exhaust is so boomy in the cabin at motorway speeds it gives you a headache. At least with a custom exhaust you will get something tailored. Try Mike Stokes in Winton, Although they will be at least £250.

Don't expact any performance gains from any Longlife or Powerflow exhaust though as despite there claims these are not bespoke as all the boxes and pipes etc are off the shelf. If you want a true cutom Exhaust head to Salisbury to Torque Technique or Janspeed.

These are real exhaust specialists and will fabricate a genuine bespoke system for you. Torque Technique may even be cheaper than Mike Stokes (powerflow) anyway.

These places are fine if you are only after appearance and noise but they can actually cost a you a few BHP. Oh and steer clear of Ebay exhausts

Hi, my mate used to work for mike stokes - it'll be a lot more than that tbh and the guys a bellend from what I hear, so I won't be giving him any of my earnings.

The only place I'd have a custom exhaust made for any of my Hondas would be Hond-R or Endless Horizon as I know the guys there and they really love what the do along with the customers cars etc etc, so I'd rather support them as they're regular Honda nutters with the passion we all share for modification.

You don't really get that kind of treatment from a generic place tbh... The same goes for tuning - I'd always goto a specialist - I don't doubt the capability of other places that cater for other manufacturers but it's just not the same as going somewhere that just builds crazy cars of one marque.

A good example would be Phil Morrison's Aristo where he had to have the chassis notched to run the custom exhaust tucked up into the chassis as close as possible to run as best clearance as required for a low drift car along with making sure everything was routed correctly past everything else - especially on lock... Now taking a car to just anywhere that builds custom exhausts would probably sort this if you pointed it out, but it's not the same experience and mindset as say a specialist Toyota garage that see these all the time and class something like that as the "obvious option" for "that kind" of exhaust as it were.

As for powerflow/magnaflow etc I've ran a few of them on both my civics and none were anything special after a few months they looked as rough as any ebay exhaust. My ex for example has a toyo sports ebayDM 2.25" straight through on her EJ9 and it does the job more than sufficiently; a friend build a ej2 turbo using the same exhaust and ran a safe 207.6bhp @7 psi...
The only reason I personally didn't use one on my civic was because I was lucky enough to find jdm bargains locally and from forums etc... Also I would have preferred a 2.5" for future proofing if I K swapped etc...

Funny about the headache remark, all have mine have been insanely loud (I set off a lot of shop and car alarms locally haha) but that's why I enjoyed it being that it was 'that' loud as it were and not a typical "well it's quiet when I want it to be and has a nice rasp on vtec" that's just not me... I'm more track car madness when it comes to that...
Plus I guess I'm just used to it from having to be as it were from running cars so low you can't have resonators or big rear silencers; all down to personal taste obviously but yeah you'd hate my mates ek9 with a Buddyclub Spec 2 haha the lightest loudest most illegal exhaust especially on vtec haha but it sounds awesome :)

I don't know anyone who's ever had an issue with ebayDM exhausts other than moaning about the manifold being too long on a lowered car - which you will find with a lot of mani's bar the 'Tri-Y' types which can be reps or genuine articles aslong as the designs the same.

Anyone who's bought a ebayDM exhaust or part in general and moaned clearly has concept of value for money vs real life... SO MANY people ***ume they're going to get the quality of a HKS and the likes which quite frankly is ridiculous lol.

I understand your only looking out for me which I appreciate what with you being local but it's just a cheap and cheerful bargain daily which I won't keep mate.

I'm trying not to sound like a ***** here but I'm well aware of the benefits of a proper exhaust vs ebayDM.

My civic's have had a total of 6/7 exhausts in parts combined carried across the 2 cars (due to smashing them being so low haha) and yeah it' great having a custom exhaust or a genuine apexi/greddy/skunk2/buddyclub/spoon/hks/tannabe etc but not on a car that will be slammed lol.

At the end of the day the car in question now is a huge and heavy boaty 1310kg car so the minimal difference i'd gain/loose from a big exhaust won't be noticeable as unless it's a gain of over 10% or more i'm not going to physically feel the difference.

I appreciate peoples opinion's but that's really not what i'm after... BUT all I want is a cheap and cheerful 2/2.25/2.5" catback to go with the japspeed 4-2-1 manifold/downpipe and decat I intend to put on. as I say I got the car very cheap and it's just my daily... So bang per buck and looks/sound is all I care about.

I will be buying a Spec R S15 after my birthday, or at the latest upon renewal of my insurance next year so spending more than the ebayDM going rates on a fancy custom exhaust is of no interest as I'll just sell this at a loss standard or not... Well maybe break even after all the lil bit's it's needed such as tyres/tracking/tie rod ends/mot/tax etc etc.

Either way it's no interest as I say it's only a cheap daily mate :) So aslong as it's cheap and I get a cheeky loud vtec rasp and it's aesthetically pleasing to me and I can buy another cheap (should I squash it when it's slammed) I don't care what brand it is or where it's from.

However getting something that's good enough sound and looks wise replace the vtec rasp and loudness of my civic (no silencers/cat/full straight through) is all I want mate.

I really do appreciate the recommendation though being local so thanks for that it's just no offense as I say not the answer I'm looking for.

So all i want to know is will a 94, 97 or 98 exhaust fit my 2000 - like the one listed as an example in my original post.

Oh and not the best example but here's a buddyclub spec 2 on a crx with a b18c6
