Hi last year my exhaust snapped and was repaired (solid repair but poorly thought out). Essentially it's a 'T" instead of a 'Y' at the joint. No issues but it's not sitting right with me and can't be good for the flow. I have been offered an original cat-back which has also been repaired but in its original form at a good price I'll try to add some pics bit would appreciate any advice on whether I should leave it as it is or replace. Thanks

I'm an advocate of 'if it ain't broke, don't fix it' but yours sort of is broke. If you are not happy with it & you wish to improve the car then you clearly wish to swap out the badly repaired part.

Well said Craig and I think you're right

I'm just in the process of deciding which aftermarket system to buy. My std exhaust has been hanging in there for the last 2 years since I bought the car. I need a new front flexi/elbow & the system is pretty rotty.

Most after market are out of budget for me unfortunately. What model do you have? I may see if I can get a custom piece made again as the middle section was also replaced so is in very good condition as opposed to the original on the one I'm thinking of swapping over.

Model? 03 ABP 2.4 Type-S
I'm torn between the Fujitsubo Legalis R or Invidia offerings. There is some German options on ebay but I feel it could be a risk what actually turns up & if I'm happy with it. I certainly don't want anything loud, I want quality most of all.

Sounds good. Sorry what's ABP? Yes definetley some risky options on Ebay!!

Update. Decided not to go for the swap as on closer inspection the replacement wasn't in the best of conditions. Been to a specialist today and he thinks the repair done last year isn't really impacting much at all so I'm going to scrap the idea. Now thinking about a resonator delete. One of the two just for a bit of sound as the stock system is as quiet as you can get. Has anyone done this? I've heard about potential rasp issues? I certainly don't want anything overly dramatic or affect performance/ emissions, thanks

Res deleted. Minor sound increase but quite nice!
