Hello folks, i have a small hole in the driver side floor which i intend to weld as the mot is due soon, was wondering if it is vital to unplug the ecu as well as disconnecting the battery? Thanks for any advice.

When I weld on my cars I just disconnect the battery. Never had any problems so far.

As above dude. Do that and you'll be fine.

Good advise from the guys and yes disconnect the negative on the battery.
Honda recommend doing this on most jobs on our cars TBO

If you will not disconect battery. you can fry car's ecu when welding anything...

Just for info, is there any length of time that the battery should be disconnected before doing anything like this?
E.g. does anything have a "memory" that needs discharged for x length of time? e.g. If I was to remove the seats, I've had cars in the past where they recommend you disconnect the battery half-hour in advance of doing certain jobs for danger of setting airbags off etc...
