Hi guys. I'm about to buy a 2.4 accord cu2 model which comes with Sat nav. Been looking everywhere for a guide on how to install a double din. Doesn't seem like it's doable which km very gutted. Anyone can please advise. Thank you

Ahh nice hopefully they can help
My accord is an ES GT so a non sat nav model but I fitted this to mine;

When purchasing there where 2 versions the other was for the ones with sat nav and premium audio set up. The loom directly plugs into the standard wiring as the original stereo is kept and functional.

I have seen surrounds to replace original stereo with double din units but believe there may be issues fitting them when you have the premium set up.

AliExpress was the source, as with most Chinese items the instructions were bad, concentrating on physical fitment rather than wiring etc but had little issues fitting. Has been fitted approx 12 months with no major issues.

Looking to keep the display to show the AC climate stuff etc. Don't know why the MK8 is such a pain.

The AC climate information is shown on the replacement screen if you watch video until the end I show the information coming on the display ;)

Just saw the whole video. Very neat. Any output for subs? Or would I need to use a RCA converter?

There were RCA outputs tbh there was a lot of redundant inputs and outputs on the wiring loom

I'm currently in the process of integrating a Raspberry Pi 4 into my CW3 Type S. I wanted to retain the factory look and have modern features. All in it cost me around £180 I have made a write up on this in the modifying section here on the forum. By no means have I finished it as I just don't have the time for it at the minute but it is fully functional.

Here are 2 videos of it working;

Thanks for the video. Looks great. I guess you have best of both worlds. OEM sat nav and the aftermarket stereo. Why have honda made it so hard to change the OEM stereo. Such an *** move lol.

Take a look at this. It promises the use of Japanese brand stereos and still get to retain the AC & heating visual function in the navigation models.

I've been watching this with interest and have ordered the cable and a non satnav display from a breakers. I also have the same genuine Honda/Acura dash panel but I can't work out what trim ring I need as the supplied one with my Kenwood double din is too big.

The trim ring used came from the Gathers VXH-083CVi >https://www.honda.co.jp/news/2007/4070604.html
This trim ring is part of the VXH-083CVi front facia and is non removable. You will have to remove it from the radio ***embly. Then cut out the middle section and trim it down to size. After your trim it down to size you will need to make 2 small brackets to hold it in place in the Honda trim panel. You can purchase a used Gathers VXH-083Cvi here> https://buyee.jp/item/search/query/VXH-083CVi ?translationType=1

If this Gathers VXH-083Cvi method is not for you. Your next best options are:
1) Amon AODEA 2278 > https://www.amazon.co.jp/-/en/gp/product/B00503H3MK/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1&th=1&aod=1&oCode=/gp/product/B00503H3MK

To answer your other question on the gauges. This is what iData Maestro and the Kenwood does. I'm not sure what you would give up using a North American model stereo to get this feature. I know the iData Maestro RR will work in the CU2 over your side of the pond. All it is doing is collect the information from you OBDII connector and provide steering wheel control.

Use the Acura TSX to look up for the CU2 Accord application> https://www.idatalinkmaestro.com/en/products/maestro-rr

This what the Just Fit KJ-H45DE looks like in the Honda trim. The other bands fits the same, they just have a better finish. The Amon AODEA 2278 having the smoother finish.

Links to what we have over here for the CU2 platform. Remember to use the 2009 to 2014 Acura TSX to look up the information.

You can but the fascia that supports a double din unit, rather than cutting the existing one.

Shipping for this harness to the UK is $26.65 USD with eBay shipping services. Other parts of Europe a few dollars less or a few dollars more depending on the country. But none exceeded $32.00 USD.
