Air Con/Radiator Fans

How you getting along with this on Carl?

Hi guys,

Sorry if im crashing this thread, but having similar issues!

There is some really good info on hear and I tried some of it before, given up and taken it to a specialist! Anyway he has not been able to fix the issue but we are one step further.

Basically, if he turns the air con on from the climate control panel nothing, but if he applies a negative to the relay everything fires in to life and works ok? Does anyone know what applies the negative supply to the "pull in" side of the relay? I wasn't sure if it could be the pressure sensor that holds off the neg? He was unable to get any wiring diagrams and the ones I have are wrong he thinks? Spoke to local Honda dealer who were not giving much away and more interested in booking it in for a diagnostic check! ££££££

Any help appreciated as my wallet is starting to take a bit of a denting from this and if goes to Honda A, I'm not confident they know what they are doing and B at £104 an hour it's going to hurt!

Thanks Rob.

haha can I crash this thread too

Sputnik just had its 250K service today and I got the garage's electrician to follow diagrams Rob sent me.

They are 90% sure its my pressure sensor as they've leak checked and can't find anything, and they said when they hijacked the feed from the pressure sensor then it sparked the a/c into life.

I just traced the part and got to this webpage http://www.compressorworld.net/ecommerce/mt1618-pressure-transducer.html , maybe the linked wiring pinout could help Rob.

I'm just interested to know if anybody knows of any decent scrapyards in Leeds or Manchester that I could get a sensor for a tenner...instead of £60<>70 quid at the dealers.

I know I'll take another hit from the garage for a degas/regas , but hoping the lads will easy on me since I've spent that much I should be invited to their xmas doo ;)

Hi Ian,

No luck at the garage then? Thanks for tink may try and give that a go if I get chance ***ume you link the pos and sensor?

Sure I read that earlier in this thread, I'll check..

Does anyone know please,

Is the negative supply on the pull in side of the relay just a negative from the battery, or is it switched by something? Please.

Thanks

Been away all week ( in my S-Max ) , but the wife did drop Sputnik off at the garage to have its new A/C pressure switch fitted ( £53 for the part ).

Anyhows I've been out & about in Sputnik today and ....hey presto my A/C is now working.

So the moral is..A/C pressure switches might get dodgy at 250000 miles or 7/8 yrs whichever comes sooner :)
