Air Con

All the gas has leaked out of mine 2.2 in four weeks. The compressor was kicking in, so I know it works because it was ice cold just four weeks ago. Will be taking it to another air con place. Not a Honda dealer.

Just checked my sensors:

1 - 43
2 - 22
3 - 60
4 - 63
5 - 38
6 - c9
7 - 01
8 - 00
9 - f5
10 - 06

that's what I was thinking ;)

belt is same part on 2.4 and 2.0

2.4 https://www.lingshondaparts.com/honda_car_parts_selection.php?block_01=17SED01&block_02=B__5700&block_03=529&block_05=hcr

2.0 https://www.lingshondaparts.com/honda_car_parts_selection.php?block_01=17SED01&block_02=B__5700&block_03=515&block_05=hcr

2.4 = 38920RBBE03
2.0 = 38920RBAE03

slight difference in actual part number but they will be identical

Brian, Just realised you said the 2.0 and 2.4 are the same belt and read that as being the same for my 2.2 diesel but now thinking it may not be !

ah, I see why you were asking in this other thread http://typeaccord.co.uk/forum/topic/22247-ac-aircon-is-it-any-good/

As said in that thread, the only way to find a leak is by using UV dye and looking for UV when the system is running. IMO the usual place for leaks will be the compressor seals.

Partly my mistake Graham when I replied in #55

Best thing is to do what Mwahab suggested in #60 and use some string to take the measurement, especially as you've done the diesel re-route job. Even though the 2.4 should be same as the 2.0 I'll probably do that on my 2.4 because the compressor clutch is no longer pulling in and I'd like to take the compressor out. I will get an ***istant to hold the tensioner back while I run the string round, so that the belt can be a tad longer than the string if need be.

Erm, so I've been running without an AC compressor for a few days now and noticed the fuel wasnt being guzzled as it was previously....

The stats speak for themselves!! Exact same driving style, car feels more lively so I've been putting my foot down more than I used to!

LOL you don't have to put a shorter belt on to stop the compressor running, you can simply put A/C OFF

True, but there's no fun in just pressing a button! I'm going to try and crack 40 mpg for the heck of it.
