This is definitely linked to your steering wheel illumination problem. Get your car on a diagnostics machine otherwise you will be just guessing as to what the fault is.
It could be as simple as a fuse or a loose cable.

OK. A quick flick around the forum suggests this is £90 + VAT main dealer. Some suggest that anybody other than a main dealer won't be able to get all the codes off. Others suggest buying a machine.

(And others suggest using an Android phone and b/t but I haven't got an Android phone - though I do have a laptop - any other similar programmes?)
