Anyone else come across this? last month I replaced the drive belt on my 54 Tourer, fitting the short option, and removing the ldler pulley as I suspected the Rattle was coming from this, up to date all has been serene but following A SPIRITED 100 mile slog I now find the noise is back, having got home and switched off, I had occasion to restart 5 minutes later and the noise was back, I was not a little concerned and sat listening to the rattle for a few seconds, with the door open, and the interior lights on, suddenly the noise stopped and the lights became brighter. I am now convinced that the alternator pulley is the cause of all my worry, I had been thinking that the dreaded "chain" gang was on the march. I allowed the engine to cool off for about 1/2 hour and then started up again the noise has gone away. So I reckon I will be looking to change the alternator shortly if not the whole thing, then surely the pulley. Hope this puts a few minds at rest.

now I see why you added a post to the end of the seized alternator thread, best not to start the discussion on stalled starter current again

Could it have saved you some blood and tears Jon?
Yeah, it would have been great if I'd only had to change something easy as well!

Fuel filter turned up earlier - just under 20 quid... not bad.

you mean you change your underpants without changing your socks ?

HI John, I am in the exact same boat as you.

I updated the belt routing on my 06 accord in April. It has been fine up until yesterday it started to make a clicky sound.

Recording of my sound

Apparently the front alternator bearing is knackered due to the extra stress from the old belt routing.
Gutted as I should have sorted this whilst I got the belt change. (oversight on my part at the time)
It disappeared today whilst driving to work but pretty sure it be back again lol

Easiest option it to change the alternator but a strip down of the alternator is possible and cheaper dependant on how easy the alternator is to strip down.

Are you going for a new genuine Honda alternator or a re-manufactured one?

Brand new part £149.99, will arrive tomorrow I'll llet you know.

Done thanks, psst don't want any strange men sending me mail. strange Ladies welllll???

ohhhh no it wasn't
It honestly was. He can find parts for under half the Honda cost and recently advised me on sourcing a very cheap (but OEM) fuel filter from a reliable stockist.

I would have bet good money against him ever getting his replacement alternator from a Honda dealer. And he didn't!

I see you 'cold and unfriendly' K24 owners gave that poor man an 'icy reception' and just made him flounce off.

God only knows how upset he'd have been if you'd actually tried to help him Brian. :p

^ 34th letter on page 9 doesn't decode that, neither does 9th letter on page 34.

Ah, you missed it.

A fellow K24 owner recently joined the forum, but none of you helped him with his tuning and mods query. So about an hour ago he posted that you were all a bit crap (I paraphrase) and stormed off... the threads are now deleted.

I think he made some good points!

I do hope this is helping anyone with a rattling alternator problem!

But don't worry, diesel owners are friendly and helpful so all queries will be promptly answered.

shock horror, strange how trolls organise a setup, even stranger how a TAF seems to think it has worth
