Okay so I'm new to Accords (and to TA) but something really annoyed me yesterday.

I just got the car last week and finally got around to doing a real good look around under the hood (bonnet - right? ), you know checking all my fluids, belts, hoses etc...

Well I got to checking my air filter and I couldn't believe how annoying the thing was. On other cars I've owned you can just release a snap or clip and pull the filter out. Instead Honda forces us to remove four screws (in a few tight spots) just to get it out.

Sometimes I wonder what car manufactures are thinking when they ***emble the engine compartment. I couldn't find the power steering reservoir on my 98' 328i for the life of me. Finally I realized it was underneath the dang air filter housing. I had to take the whole thing out just to get to the reservoir.

Anyone know what I mean or am I just getting annoyed for no good reason? lolz

It's only annoying the first time... After that you realise you only need to loosen them a bit and the filter cover lifts enough to pull the panel out.

Think of the poor s0ds with the 6th Gen model and the fun they have with their pollen filters

The fuel filter is another matter entirely though ;).

Haha it's a normal thing all the Hondas I've owned u need to unscrew 4 screws. Yes it takes 2mins, but unknow it will be very secure and tight fit! =D

Not on the 2.4 8th gen the air filter box has gone back to 4 spring clips :D

extension arm with 8mm socket does the trick! ;) lol btw dont tighten them too much they will break, I broke a couple... as soon as it touches tight leave it lol

I think I was getting annoyed mostly at my tools. The extension arm on my socket wrench wasn't long enough to get the back left one. So I tried a screw driver I have with a socket bit but the darn ball wouldn't compress so I couldn't even get the socket on! Finally I found another one in a drill set I have thank god. It just seemed like way to much work - I'm just lucky I didn't drop a screw.
