Any way to check SVC on cd audio

Hi all, I'm not sure if the SVC is working properly on my 2008 2.2 I-CTDI Executive, I notice that when I slow down at the traffic lights the sounds isn't reduced very much even though I've got the SVC setting on high. I seem to remember that when I had this setting on high previously the sounds levels when reducing speed were lowered considerably but this now doesn't seem to be the case. Am I missing something or may there be a fault with the SVC itself. I've only tried this with a CD playing and not with radio. Cheers in advance.
