codes 9, 71 & 72
cyp senaor, cylinder 1 and 2
changed cyp sensor, spark plugs are all new, tested with different leads, swapped over all internals from an obd1 dizzy cuz the obd1 dizzy wouldnt bolt up but apparently internals are the same,
checked all wiring even compression test in all were high,...
help is needed here

Right, i ***ume when you say code 9 you mean P0009? If so,
9 = Engine position system, bank 2 performance Mechanical fault
71 = Outside air temperature sensor range/performance problem Outside air temperature sensor
72 = Outside air temperature sensor low input Wiring, short to ground, outside air temperature sensor, ECM
Can you please clarify that the codes are indeed P0009, P0071 and P0071 please.
Has the car got any modifications to it at all? Are both the arrows on the cam gears pointing straight up? or do they point in the same direction?
How does the car run when started up? Does it idle smoothly?

codes are the blinks from engine mil so
9 short
7 long and 1 short
7 long and 2 short
timing is lined up only mods i can think of are induction and exhaust.
cnt see that causing probs.
iv seen the car once and mentioned all the obvious as above and more and i dont know.
its with someone who specializes in VTECs in Bradford and he is stumped.

The only 2 places that i can honestly recommend are HoldCroft Honda in Stoke on trent, and VtecDirect in Winsford.
But as CJ has said it does seem like the car'll need to go to a specialist.

Go to vtec direct mate he deals in atr's all the time i highly recommend him

Got bless Andy!!!! :lol: He's done ALL the work to my car. Even though it's a 201 miles trip to him (402 in total) he's the only person i take my car to.

guna try an ecu i think he guna get 1 this evening to test in it and see if that does anything .

He's worked on my brothers EJ6 Civic and did a ckutch on my mates 54 plate Accord vtec and completed without fault. Nice guy aswell and really friendly team.

I think Dennis in only there on saturday mornings at the moment cuz he doing MOTs in Otley thats what one of his guys there was saying to me before when i went about my car. He is good I know. Thanks for the advice though.

For a start it needs a proper diagnostic mate, not a blink test!
Plenty of decent places in Bradford, these cars aren't actually that complicated.
Take it down to Maj (Maj Motors) on Legrams lane, tell him Fahad sent you. Ask him to run a complete diagnostic and take it from there. It won't need a new ECU unless someone has messed with the wiring or its had water inside it.

Iv mentioned that myself about diagnostic.I know blink testing can only give u an area to work in.
Im not working on it, its with someone else. he asked for a bit of help, i said i can only ask around, check online. many hands make light work and all that
is there a service manual anywhere like in pdf or online?

Yeah there is a pdf for it bud i'll have a look tomoz for the link. Or try typing in google accord type r service manual its a zip file that needs downloading then opening. Its on accordr.org but you need to pay membership
He's a top guy, the head mechanic also has over 20 years experince with Honda too. I'm hoping to give the prelude in soon for a timing belt change.
Shaf not been to him but i'm sure the man knows his Hondas. Afterall you aint from Bradford if you don't know Hondas right lol.

cuz it doesnt make sense, if everything i mentioned including compression test and 1 and 2 arent firing,
the pulse is controlled by the ecu on these right?
