Honda Accord 2006
Hi Lads.

I've a 2006 Accord.. i've not added anything extra.. There's a Nokia blue tooth hands free set installed... but don't think this will work for what I want.

I wanted to know if there's a easy bit of kit I could get to be able to stream audio from my phone over the car speakers ?

I don't want to get a new bluetooth headset or anything.. but would like to know if there's any options out there..

I would just be streaming Spotify / podcasts ..

Any ideas ?

cheers

How would I go about installing that AUX ? ... I worked for Pioneer and have installed some head units before.. but these where all simple .. pop out the old radio with the keys.. maybe change the cage.. then pop in the new head unit.. connecting the loom etc.

I've never dealt with built in units.. and i'm affraid and messing up the dash board.. I take it this would plug into the back of my current head unit and then i'd need to run the cable to the dash somewhere so I could connect via AUX ?

also that spec says "
  • Honda Accord : 2001 - 2007 (with Sat Nav)"
I don't have a sat nav

Another possibility for your connectivity problem is XCARLINK (do a search).

Even if you don't fancy the module there are a number of threads dealing with fitting XCARLINK that cover pulling the dash out to gain access to the cdchanger socket on your head unit that most AUX solutions seem to use.

Also (famously) there is this one http://www.civinfo.com/wiki/index.php?***le=Install_Xcarlink_in_2007_Accord (I know from experience the non-nav install is much the same only you need not release the top air vents with a fish slice and draw the head unit forward. The white socket you're after is accessible from beneath with the aid of a small mirror once the ash tray, cubby and gear stick gator are out the way)
