auto g/box problems

Hi all and merry xmas to you all
any one had any auto g/box problems on their accords mine is a 3.0l v6 and it doesnt like changing from 1st to 2 nd gear it bangs in with a heafty jolt unless i drive really slowly.
Have changed the auto fluid.
Please help i have just bought the car and i LOVE it.

I'm not 100% sure what the problem might be but it does sound like your g/box is damaged, also you've posted this in the wrong section of the forum, this section is used for problems that members encounter with the actual website. For help with your problem and issues with your car, please post in the 6th gen Accord section, this is where other sixth gen owners will be able to help you with your problems.

The auto box is a known problem on the 6th gens mate. You'll be needing a new one/reconditioned one fella. - Sorry :blush:

Get the gearbox oil changed as soon as possible and put Honda ATF oil in it. Get it flushed if possible as it holds 6 litres when full but only 2.5 drains out as the torque converter remains topped up.
You may be lucky as they do not like old or non-standard gearbox oil and it can cause harsh gear changes.
