Automatic Gearbox reset after ATF change - how ?

Hi

After changing the ATF how does one reset the automatic gearbox ECU and make it "relearn" with the new fluid, as I'm sure this will alter some of the parameters.

Wil disconnecting the battery for a few hrs do it ?

I also have a Buetooth OBDII reader for my android phone and TorquePro app if it can be done that way.

Where does it say this is necessary? It isn't after an engine oil change.

I didn't do this when I changed mine and pretty sure there is no mention of it in the Honda workshop manual.

If you disconnect the battery for 15 mins it has the same effect as a reset, but as far as I'm aware it's not necessary.

I changed the trans oil in my 7th get auto when I bought it and didn't do anything.

There is no reset for the transmission. Only the ecu which is self learning anyway so there is no benefit unless you have had major issues

Are you wanting to do this because you have a problem with the gearbox that wasn't mentioned in the 1st post?

Did you change the autobox filter as well?
