Hi Guys

Noticed a noise coming from the car other day and seems to be coming from around the aux belt area I have video of it

Is this the belt that needs replacing or something worse? When wet it squeals but WD40 gets rid of that lol

Any help would be appreciated

it’s a 2003 2.4 just turned 90k

Cheers

I've got a similar thing on mine, although it's more of a rattle - Once it's warmed up its fine. I'm guessing its down to the PAS Pump - Fluid is fine, although could do with a change!

its your alternator starting to go. look for a thread I posted in the DIY section of how to do a diesel aux belt and alternator.

same clicky noise as my alternator had before it started screaming .

If the belt has never been changed then it's most likely the belt.
And WD40 on a belt will definitely not help it.

I know why not to use WD40 now after speaking to chaps at work

Took it to a garage who removed the belt, the noise went. Its a mechanical noise if that makes sense. They reconed it could be a pulley or the water pump?

An old belt also makes a squeaking noise, see my own thread when I had a similar problem 18 months ago, I thoght it might be a tensioner or a bearing, but it was the belt itself

It turned out to be the water pump, wasn't a cheap fix at honda :( bit at least it's sorted now :)
