Could anyone tell me how hard it is to change ball joints?

Is it something I can do with the car on axle stands?

If so what tools do I need?

Cheers.

I guess you need to remove the knuckle out of the car, and then use a press to remove the old ball-joint, and install the new one...

depends on what joint it is, I've just done the one in the upper arm and found it easier and cheaper to just change the whole arm.

Lowers can be done on the car, but only with the right kit. We do them in less than an hour a side.

I have changed upper ball joints, but it took me about 2-3 hours each. I even had to lathe new ball joint because it was bigger than original one about 0.5mm. (new ball joint was made by nippart)
Remember position of upper arm before removing it. when placing new one you need hold it in that position before tightening the nut. otherwise there will be high tension on rubber joint and it will brake after some time.

p.s. this is just in case if someone doesn't know ;)
